This time the song's played in Open E. I know most people hate messing with tuning but it's
the easiest and actual way to play the song.

| It's "Grown" into a scream, not It's "crawled" into a scream | |

| I think this song is about whether Hoobastank should sell out and in the end he says no. | |

| I think this is the best hoobastank song ever. Maybe it means if you have a tough decision to make you just have to be yourself. | |

| "if I were you" sounds so much like incubus that I can definitely see the comparison. that's who it reminds me of, anyway ... but I have never been one to rag on a band for sounding like someone else, because as a musician, I understand that it's easy to take bits and pieces from other musicians and incorporate them into your sound. at any rate, this is one of my favorite songs on the new cd, along with "inside of you" and "more than a memory" | |

| I love this song so much! As you can see, I dedicated my name to it!!! Hoobastank is amazing and I love the lyrics for this song. It is all about being yourself and paving your own path, not conforming to what is expected. Not having to follow trends. Not selling out just to make money. Like some artists. Keep it about the music!! this song is so inspiring and that is how i live my life. I will never be who people want me t be I will just be *me*! And I have to say i have never thought they sounded like Incubus. And if they do oh well a band is made by what they sing about to me. Sometimes I love bands even if they do sound like another because their lyrics are amazing. | |

| this song is SO good as everyone said, it doesn't really remind me of Incubus...just the beat...but the lyrics really remind me of a punk song just the meaning comes across as it; for example..."I will not follow your rules and become a mindless drown as everyone else in this fast paced business man world. I will be the FIRST OF ME, and not the next of you cliche americans"....i think the whole reason i got that idea is when he says 'If I can't refuse, the price they offer, I am sure to lose, and I will suffer, Sell my soul to make a profit'....but I'm not too sure, i was looking for a deaper meaning, the meaning is kinda obvious though XD 1 | |

| This song should be a single...Incredible. I have a feeling that the song has something to do with people's reactions to Hoobatank as "an Incubus clone". He's basically saying, "No, we are not the next ____. We are the first ____." | |

| "The First of Me," for example, is Robb’s idea that people should start their own thing and be "the first of me", instead of "the next of you." That comes from the description of the new album. I definately agree with it too or that's what I got from this song too. Definately an awesome song; one that I listen to the most so far on this album! | |
