I think that is it is a song about how a person questions god. They deeply desire to gain understanding about god and the way he works and thinks, but they are... barricaded by their own limited thinking. this person strives to be all that a christain should be.. but if he can't explain what a christain should be then how can he be whatever it is. he's just confused is all.

I think the song is about how so many people blame God for whats going wrong in the world today, but they continue in their own hate for others, and the problems are actually our own. We made them, but they still blame God. I think hopesfall is trying to show people that God can be a solution, while at the same time questioning God at the same time why the bad things happen. Or something like that.. it's a good song regardless what I think.

-I agree with Zeni. This song talks about how those who chase the wind don't really see the reality of life. Instead they are mourning in their lost worlds and are blinded by what lies ahead of them. I think this song is awesome. He talks about things that are so true and amazing. I hope others see the real importance of this song.

This song is practically straight out of Ecclesiastes. He's speaking of himself as a modern day Solomon. The more realizations and wisdom he obtains, the more everything seems so corrupt. Just read Ecclesiastes..it's all right there!

i think that he is trying to say that he wishes he could show everyone the happiness he has found in god and that they may take part in it as well. "fill this heart with the wisdom that brings me to my knees. let me show them what Your true love is"

This song is rad i'm not sure but I think part of this song he's singing about the grief etc. he has obtained from knowledge and truth and maybe went through some time where he really suffered emotionally or something but he knows it will mature his realtionship with God if he just gives it all to Him to help him through etc.

This song is about the dualistic and paradoxic nature of life and how humanity is equally capable of good and bad. "The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning" because those who "chase the wind" are trying to reach a state of happiness that does not exist for happiness cannot exist without sorrow. I think the point the singer is trying to convey is that empathy is what makes us grow stronger, not by chasing hopes for a better day.

I agree with you Zeni. People who chase the wind don't see the reailty of life. They choose to keep mourning in their lost world and are blinded by the good things that lie ahead. This is such an awesome song. What he talks about is so true and so amazing. I hope others will see the importance of what this song means.

This song is about a realization the singer has made about mankind and basically how fucked up we are and the fucked up way we've evolved as a species, and the fact that there is basically no hope of change because most people are ignorant, selfish, and greedy, and don't want to change the way they are living now even though there are so many things wrong with what we consider "normal". At least, thats what I think its about.

this song is about the church. its about being persecuted among believers. when we go to church we should be uplifted not destoyed and torn apart, which is the way a lot of the churchs are today. "the product of hate, from your hand." that is what has become of him due to the church but he wants to see Christ's true love.

i love this song, forget the religious connotations, im taking ym own meaning. hehe thats why music rules, there are 28591891 ways to take everything. so the moral, if you will of the song: life sucks. people suck. theyre ignorant as hell in their attempts for happiness. those of who are smart and realize whats really happening get screwed because life really is a bitch. i just love "and it is by a sad countenance...(awesome instrumental section, leading into a perfect end to the lyric)...the heart is made stronger in time." its simply amazing. wow.

i think this song is about how everyone says god is so great and only makes great things happen and that god is filled with such a great love.. but how god lets so much hurt and pain happen .. he jsut wants to see what gods true love is

To me, this song is about the pain, misery, and torment that comes from any sort of wisdom. It is true that ignorance is bliss, but then ignorance is inhuman. Wise people are burdened with truth, and let's be honest, the truth sucks. The wind is a truth without sadness, it cannot be grasped during life as we understand it, I hope I get it when I die

no wait... I think now that I read it again it is about the church, "must there be so much ingnorance among you? your beliefs have been run into the ground, your methods made me run away." definitely sum up how the church in the midst of it's journey in being holy and all has so much that they subconciously do to lift themselves up, mix up things that God says, Condemn others etc. and maybe they should take a look at themselves and see how they really are, preaching God's love while condemning so many others. "i strive to glean the truth from the fields of the self righteous" is a great picture of how he wants to find out about God himself and not hear "what God is telling him" through the mouth of someone in a higher position in the church and in all he just wants to experience the true love of God.... Amazing song

god damn, hopesfall is such a talented band. their melodic sounds. One of my favorite things about this band is how they Stop, pick up the pace, stop... and do it like nothing. Hopesfall effing rocks out. it was love at first hear? whatever.
