| this IS my favorite song on this record... PURE genius... the whole ending is just mind-blowing... this song takes me back to the end of last summer... when i got the hopesfall sampler from furnace fest and it had this and Waitress on it... and i'd listen to both of 'em repeatedly... good times.. when i think of "infatuations best kept secret"... i think of like... being so fixated on someone and you love them like crazy, but you cannot work yourself up to tell them... and it kills you inside.. so bad that you have to write a song about it... this new Josh guy on vocals is just purely amazing.. he has the vocal range Doug didn't have... even tho i thought Doug was great too... | |

| This song is about trying to move forward with your life and live out your dreams, but, being too scared to break away from something or someone in your past. If you dont over come your fears than you will just be throwing everything away. The secret is that your dreams are waiting for you if you would just move on with your life. 'So not another word of this...' Means that hes going to stop thinking/talking about it and finally make it happen. The last line is a metaphor. He is going to move forward before his life becomes like a word that you just barely couldnt get off the tip of your tounge. I think in the line "infatuations best kept secret" he uses infatuation in the more traditional definition of something that causes you to act foolishly. This 'something' I think is your fear of breaking away and moving on. This would fit perfectly with the theme of 'escape' that he said he had for the album as a whole. I think all of the other interpretations here are really good too and there is more than one way to read this song. | |

| the song is abot cheating on your spouse(in this case, Jay's)infatuations best kept secret(theres something hes not telling her, and he needs to get it of his chest)then they he tells her( not another word of this concious bending convo...) and then at the end he talks about the (comfort) probably that he was looking for when kissed her/or his GF (ill find it before i revolve around the tips of THIER**** tounges)...its a beautiful song. can anyone tab it.. | |
