Home H Hot Water Music Biography

Band Picture

Hot Water Music is a post-hardcore/ punk rock band from Gainesville, Florida. The members of the band are Chuck Ragan, singer and guitar, Chris Wollard, singer and guitar, Jason Black, bass guitar, and George Rebelo, drums. HWM first formed in 1993. In 1996, after releasing two EPs and a full-length album, the band briefly disbanded, but soon reformed. As of late 2005, Hot Water Music is on somewhat permanent hiatus owing to lead singer Chuck Ragan's departure to care for his family. This hiatus is far from hostile, and the three remaining members have started a new project, titled 'The Draft'. Their first album is expected sometime in 2006.

The band's name was taken from the book by Charles Bukowski of the same name.

The band members have also participated in many side projects, mainly following the 'Gainesville Punk' musical style. The two most popular of these are 'Blacktop Cadence' and 'Rumbleseat'.
