One of the best songs ever. Matt Barlow gives it great feeling. I hope Ripper Owens doesn't een try to butcher this one. And no they aren't Satanic. they have a couple of songs that have strong topics, Like Creator Failure, Damian and so on. Set Abodomine is based on a god in Egyptian Mytology called set, whom was the god of evil. But i don't think Jon is Satanic he's just somewhat rebelious against the Church. You can be rebelious against the Church as an institutuion and not against God. If so the Song Holy Martyr wouldn't have been written 1

They're not satanic but I have heard however, that Jon does not believe in Christian god. Rather, he is intelligent free thinking individual who believes in HUMAN SPIRIT and that SOMETHING greater than science created our earth. Regardless, "Don't Tread me! Live free or die!"

we're always free. you can do anything you want, its a question of wether or not you will get punished. You can steal, murder, rape, etc. theres nothing stopping you. Its the fact that people punish you for doing that. Its still freedom.

i like this song to me also could be about someones father dying in a war...most likely in ww2, possibly a captive in auschwitz or something "here i'll stand on the firing line" and after dying guided all the other people and watched over them through everything and is kindof 'triaped' between heaven and earth and still roams the battlefields "here i'll walk through the field where i died" and how hard he fought to keep peace "i will fight and let the voice ring true" and in the third chorus it says "here we stand on the firing line, here i'll walk through the fields where i fight" which also, to me, means that he is still with all the prisoners in spirit and, in some way, is still fighting against the nazis. but thats my opinion and theres also many other meanings to the song, but thats what it means to me ; ) peace out!
