I can't think of the words to give this song justice.....I love it; As for the meaning, to me its about not being afraid to think for your self and challenge everything, all the so-called "norms" ......"It's your grave"...meaning its YOUR life, live it the way you want and not be afraid to take chances......

Marcel Proust was unable to write except in a cork-tiled room (to keep out noise and dust). Together with the references to Miller, it would seem Roddy feels a kinship with people who weren't quite sure whether they belonged in this world. 1

Actually, this is a rather sad tale once you look up Hugh Miller. Hugh Miller was a both a creationist and a geologist, who came into great personal conflict over the concept of a great global flood (Noah's Ark) and his observed scientific evidence. According to legend, his inability to reconcile these inconsistancies caused him to take his own life. Pretend it works awhile.... It's your grave.
