	I agree that this song is about the beauty and power of nature. I also believe that it speaks of living beings transition back to the Earth and nature when they die, thus in the last verse In Flames referring to us as the "mantle and the texture of the earth"; meaning that when we die and decompose back into the earth, we now form part of its structure. The first verse is speaking from a living point of view (i.e. "YOU are the artist of the texture") and slowly transgresses to speaking about oneself (replacing YOU with WE) Theres quite a few lyrics in this song which may undermine my point of view regarding the meaning of this song, but I think in general I'm pretty close to understanding what its about..

	In response to Dray and Biplos: I'd say that the snowflakes are metaphors for individual lives. Each is different, and each lasts only a short time before melting away. They come in December, and are almost like flowers all of their own, so I think the title of the song is a metaphor for human lives, used in the context of humans being part of nature and part of the earth when we die. "ancient pearls of sleep and death / the voice of December losing its breath" The "voice of December" is the snow, hence the lives of people. When it loses its breath - melts into water, the "ancient pearls of sleep and death" - the people's lives end. It's a story about the human life cycle. I can see how this would've been a great song to analyse.

	Jesus Murphy you have it Biplos! The floweryard of white and grey is most likely refering to a graveyard. I still don't understand what "ancient pearls of sleep and death / the voice of december losing its breath" means. They are associating December, or basically winter with death; hence, "December Flower." Later he says, "green is the colour of my death," meaning that once he's decomposed, as stated above, he will now be the soil which feed the plants. Just as the roots feed us, we soon feed the roots. I bet you never realized how old the particles that make up your body really are. Anywho, I was at the same concert I believe, it was on the 4th of September.

	Anyway, the ENTIRE song seems to me to be about snow, and the coming of spring, hence the voice of december loosing its breath. "When the bleakest of powders lie rooted to the starched stones and roots that feed the peaking trees embrace the sleeping shores" when winter comes, and the snow (the powder) hits the ground, the trees freeze and plants die. "Archaic pearls of sleep and death the voice of December losing its breath and the floweryard of white and grey is haunted" Archaic pearls=snow, once more. The two other lines simply mean that spring is coming, and that the snow covering the ground, AKA the "floweryard", will fade away. "Green is the colour of my death as in winter-guise I swoop towards the ground Green is the landscape of my sorrowfilled passing" this is sung from the viewpoint of a snowflake. The snowflake is saying that the coming of spring will be his end.
