I like this song, it's very encrypted, like most of their work. -ookay... - Mirror mirror, how far will I go? Despite the foundation I am falling. Sweet reflection Will you save a place for me? - [[I think the foundation refers to the structure, which is his life.- -[Despite this structure, he's falling/struggling.]] [[He relates to the mirror like the one in snow white. Where the mirror knew/saw everything. [["sweet reflection" He likes what he sees.- -["Will you save a place for me?" He fears by the time he gets there, there won't be a place left for him.]] - Where am I heading? Could you grant me a haven? For what? I am punished could I ever repent? - [[The first line incites a sense of uncertainty, most likely towards his life.]] [[The second line incites a sense of insecureness, and how he longs to be sheltered from the harshness of (whatever it is)]] [[The last two lines are interlinked, ignore the questionmarks- -["for what I am punished?" "-could I ever repent?"] [[Like manslaughter, he is left running; "Where am I heading?" affraid, confused and with no sense of direction. "Could you grant me a haven?" -"For what?"]] - Mother Nature, I'm wide open Waiting for you to move me - [[The first line makes me think he is, or has been, waiting for something, clarity, enlightenment, a sign.. I'm not sure.- -[His mind is open, but with everything that is happening he fails to find what it is he's searching for.]] [[The second line endorses this.]] - Don't keep it from me This is a free fall - [[Here he seems to be referring to someone, likely his own mind, as it is trying to shield out (whatever it is). -[So basically he is lying to himself.]] [[But subconsciously, he is already aware of the reality, hence "This is the Free Fall."]] [["The Free Fall" gives me images of a 20-story tall building. and a guy standing up top.]] [[Same context is repeated, this time, with a pro-longed scream, then complete silence.]] - I never seem to understand The time, the place and who I am Define a way to stay alive It’s like I’m living a lie - [[This chorus is just like, an overview of the whole song.]] [[First half says he's unable to properly grasp the concept of his life. The Time; Nature, way he is, way he does things, all of it.]] [["Define a way to stay alive" -You have to find -something- in life to make it worth living, otherwise it becomes all dull and worthless, and you just don't want to live it anymore.]] [[He can't seem to find that -thing- -[His mind is "wide open." and he is "waiting for 'mother nature' to move him(not physically)" But doesn't realize that he is the only one who can move himself(also not physically). -So he isn't going anywhere. and thus feels that the reason he's still alive, is because he has been lying to himself. Lying to make his life seem living-worth.]] - Father time Every time I stop and feel You’re there to tell me I’m already late - [[Every time he tries to stop and feel/reflect, he feels that he is 'already late' and so is left with little time to think.- -[place this with "Sweet reflection, Will you save a place for me?" -And you have the reason why he's feeling late all of the time. ..and That's how I view it. very good song.

This song is about falling in desperation, and not being able to see yourself and thigns around you clearly. Just what I've been going through lately. Free fall, falling under and not being able to hold on, becasue everything feels fragile.

I strongly disagree with ralyks. I believe this lyrics talk about how the he-inside doesn't identifies with the he-outside. Its like he does thinks that he doesn't want to. In the line "Sweet Reflection, will you save a place for me?", he talks about how he wants the inside-he to be part of the outside-he, save a place inside the soul, etc, etc. He gets punished for something he unconciously did, and tries to make up. Maybe the outside me is talking about the animal side of the person, and the inside-me is his conciousness, his goodwill

I think his world if falling apart and that he wishes that he could stay the same. He's probably waiting for something to happen to him. Also I think of it as hes trying to find a place in this world and trying to find time to make things happen for him but it seems as if he has no more time left to do what he wants that nothing stopping him that hes falling and never stopping. Trying to figure out a way of who he really is and to live and figure out his life and what hes lost within his life.

in flames just fires away with song after song that fits just right in with my life. its either we all live the same kinda life no matter who you are i guess. ok, now to the lyrics. Anders wants the free ride through life but all he can find is frustration and confusion as the price in his so called discernment. Seems when everythings going pretty good youre suddenly awakened to see the deadly truth and worthlessness in your own ambition. by the way i can play the intro to this on the marimbas yay!
