Note:
This is my first transcription but I think it's darn good anyway.
I couldn't tab everything but what I tabbed sounds correct.

Jotun is the best song on the album. Episode 666 and Gyroscope are the other 2.

I think this song is about the pressure you endure when doing something without much credit and when you finally complete it the others are looking up to you in the skyline as Jotuns (or 'Gods', betters) and now they have some sympathy for your work, and effort.

in flames songs arent as simple as one or a few lines in each of their song.. and keep in mind in flames lyrics aren about death, destruction or anarcy or anything..theyre about making the world better. you dont have to sing about destruction and death just because you are a heavy metal band this song seems very similar to Swim, imo. and "Can we identify them as the flint buried in our reptile skulls or the time-bomb coded in our dna" sums up the whole song.. i think its using buildings as an example for jotuns and they among other things are going to destroy us...can we notice this happening or is it our destiny

to be REAL honest I don't like the lyrics alot of In Flames tracks, they're getting more and more anarchy for each year, but the sound (aka. Göteborgs Soundet in Sweden) is untouchable, and wich is why In Flames got famous in the first place (Whoracle album - no vocalist ;)

You know... I love the first part of this song. It paints a great picture in my head. Until now, I thought they were possibly talking about skyscrapers collapsing due to a large scale nuclear blast... But, now I have a feeling that the "Jotun(s)" are nuclear warheads themselves. I often dream of huge numb buildings jet-black sinister architecture being installed when nobody sees Their appearance so sudden that few would take notice Being installed when nobody sees? Perhaps underground? A silo? No one would take notice...

I'd Agree quite a lot, this is the 1st In Flames song I ever heard - and since then, they've been my favourite band. I didn't know what Jotun meant, but thnx for informing ;)

Have you noticed that in the video for this song that The Whoracle is present, and dancing? Also she is gigantic, as in a Jotun, or in common English Giant.

jesterkik..the jotuns didnt destroy anything..they were hunted by the gods (odin) they were weak and just giants that lived in the mountains.. i believe what redjestersaid..the buildings are just an expample of whats happening, but the whole song (timebomb coded in our DNA) is refering to our own distruction like the mushroom clouds
