	i love this song. it's pretty cool, one of the best on the new album. it just talks about how he wants her but its only a phase, and thats why he is with her

	i see this song as being about the upstart "musical groups" that just try to get into the industry for the money and the fame. the line "temporaryism has been the black plague and the jesus of our age" talks about the pop culture and the trendiness of getting into a band or whatever. "sooner or later they'll be throwing quarters at you on stage" means because of their desire for simple fame and fortune and their lack of motivation to actually make good music for people then they'll just end up playing at small coffee shops with people throwing quarters at them. "even though you're singing and thinking how well you've got it made" is like the groups that make it big for a little bit and they just get lazy and slack off and eventually they'll be cast down, because it was just a phase. thats my opinion.

	Sandsunsaltwater I think you covered it really well, about describing how his flowing emotions throughout the amazing song... but I am alittle suspicious that it is about a relationship with a girl more than a best friend type deal, just because phases tend to happen more with 'flings' than friendships.
