I thin that El Capitano probably has a good point. I think this particular song has been very hard to understand, because it to contradict it self... the gift is an enemy! And the privilege is a chore! But perhaps it is very obivous! Perhaps it really sees what society today is about, or should I say the Western civilisation. What if the gift and the privilege is the same? PErhaps this son is about that with the westerns civilasations privelleges there are is a chore- we have all these oppertunities, we really do- we've got the oppertunities to change the world, make a difference, but instead we seem to do nothing, just go with the flow we are "standign in line". We are born with all the oppertunities to make something big of ourselfs, but in stead we have become slaves " I see you in line, dragging your feet" - zombies we are, watching television- we are wasting you time, in stead of living, we go with the flow. " Isn't it strange, that the man standing in front of me doesn't have a clue why he's waiting or what he's waiting for" - we are given all these privileges, but we don't seem to be able to handle it! That is our chore... our enemy... If we had slim to none oppertunities to make something big of ourselves, we would be sort of excused, but when we are nothing, it feels like a burden... It feels like a shame, that we have made nothing of ourselfes.... Hmmm... I don't no! But I could agree with "privilige" being a sharp observation og the lazy western people

I dunno...I thought this song was describing how Americans always gripe and complain about their lives when there are people in other countries that do not have anywhere near the number of opportunities and 'privileges' that we do, and he is showing his frustration towards people that act like they have it hard when they really don't. could be wrong though...
