I think the whole insecurities thing means that its pointless to worry about doing little things wrong, or not looking quite right maybe, as one would worry about in high school. If you really like this person, and you are really meant to match, it'll all be fine. Just throw the damn grenade and see what happens.

"Synchronicity weaves like a web When you were meant to be a meal" *I love this because it shows how some people shouldn't play hard to get when they meet someone who loves them and means it. Synchronicity means roughly a series of events and how a series of events leads you to your true love and you should be a piece of cake to get because you should match so well, hence "you were meant to be a meal" Thats what I think...:)

"met my match today" means he met 'the one' so to say.. he sounds like he can get any girl he wants and then he ran into this one and she was different she prob didnt go crazy over him like the other girls.. she's not really interested which makes him want her more!

i think this song is about the lyricist falling for a girl in a "high-school" kind of way. And by that i mean he tries to get the girl, making her see that things were "syncronised" so that the two of them would meet (synchronicity being a coincidence of events that seem to be meaningfully related) and that insecurities are pointless. he then realizes that the way he feels and thus the way he acts is so not according to his age that he finally understands what people mean when they say "highschool never ends". but that's just my interpretation :) 1 2 Next

"I understand why they say high school never ends" How true. And it's not a song about an old guy liking a young girl :p It's about society as a whole. The prejudices and cliques, the attitudes and indeed the entire heirarchy of high school, are always present. You're more likely to get a better-paying job if you are good looking. You're more likely to be popular in high school if you're good-looking The gossping girls never stop being duplicitous, and the testosterone-crazy guys never stop being womanizers and jerks. Besides, I always thought the line was "I want to be --" not, "I want you bad!" Hmm. I still can't hear "I want you bad!" /shrug

I will tell you all exactly what this song is about, because I'm on the same level as Brandon. Obviously being a rock star Brandon meets a lot of hot and interesting babes throughout his life. This song is about "that one" that caught him off guard, attracted him in that certain seductive way. He talks about the blood rushing around like we all used to experience while talking to a cute girl/guy in highschool, getting nervous, emotions stirring, etc.. Girl was meant to "be a meal" (easy prey), instead she ended up backfiring on him. The part about him never acting his age, is just talking about his energetic and funny personality, although he does have a certain jaded edge. Insecurities he talks about would be all of the games that come along with meeting and hooking up with a particular girl. The end part is just saying something about Brandon's whole reality. "This isn't coincidence, there's no such thing" ... it is said with a certain disbelief. He's implying that meeting this girl feels so right, so meant to be, that it challenges the viewpoint of "there is no coincidences or fate, its all chance" etc.. So basically he's in disbelief that this could occur by chance, and could only be pre-ordained by fate.

"Spiders in my dreams Synchronicity weaves like a web When you were meant to be a meal" i get this bit to be like, she was ment to just be used, for company, sex, whatever, ("you were ment to be a meal") but then he ends up getting keen on her, kinda snared (the web bit) as he keeps bumping into her all the time (the synchronicity bit) and then is haunted by her and cant keep his mind off her (the spiders in dreams bit) cause he, well, wants her bad. if you get that. it makes more sense in my head.
