| 420 is like the Christmas for pot smoking - 20th April. Going to 421 is only a metaphor - not actually an apartment number. Is it about trying a harder drug? By the end of the song, he want's nothing more to do with it, and is happy with just pot. | |

| brandon admitted that his earlier material lacked focus. his earlier stuff is definetely much more fragmented and borderline incoherent but there's definetely spurts of deep creativty and imagination. the drugs perhaps?? 1 | |

| It's probably about how his old neighbours were law abiding citizens and were against Brandon smoking weed. So he had to keep his weed smoking a secret from those in apartment 421. lol | |

| I actually agree with spazmeat's first impression of this song. With the line that says "his pupil was wide open" it gives me the impression that harder drugs, in this case acid, just weren't for him. It's an easy step to see how 421 means the the next step after 420, or how acid or another "hard" drug is the next step after weed. | |
