| Love it. This song is simply wonderful. And the lyrics don't need explanation i think the meaning is quite clear, at least to me OrcishIncubus i wasn't confused at all, and i don't understand what you mean with "highly likely female, I don't think something would be written like this to a guy". THat makes no sense.. it's a feeling, and believe me, a girl can feel that exact way for a guy. i think there's a wrong part there... it should be "saying my name, saying to me, saying to me, saying to me 'i choose the way you are, You, the way you are'" And it's just another incubus song man, such a GREAT band agree with Sniper5785 and dmomo2 the melody is amazing, the lyrics are wonderful brandon's voice is incredible, and he sure lets his feelings out we've seen all this elements before on other incubus songs. Incubus rocks. | |

| perhaps it was written about the breakup with carolyn before it actually happened. rumor has it they broke up in august, and that it was because incubus is always on tour and it is hard to have a relationship when he is gone all of the time. who knows. just a theory. whatever inspired it, it is beautiful. | |

| Ever listen to a song and at first didn't like it, but slowly warmed up to it? That's how I am with this song. I was confused on the meaning of the lyrics ("You make me happy..") and how the song was done. The song gave this melancholic tone, but I didn't understand the point of "You make me happy.", it didn't make since to me. But after readin the lyrics, it does make since. The melacholic tone is due to something gone, something regretting, something missed. But, the person (highly likely female, I don't think something would be written like this to a guy.) made him feel good in the past. But he knew he couldn't see the person anymore, and missed them. Kind of reminds me of "I Miss You", (almost) same lyrical content, but musically, different. | |

| it's a bit hard to explain the feeling i get when i listen to this song... i'm in a very long distance relationship and have been for nearly three years now so i have a personal connection to this song... it's definitely haunting, brandon's voice and mike's guitar... amazing! it borders on a physical longing for something/someone... i live on photographs alone sometimes. so this song has a lot of meaning for me. | |

| After listening to this again, and some things have changed in my life, I understand it now, and I like it. :D What has changed? My boyfriend moved away, three hours, to college, and I'm stuck where I still live going to a community college. >.< I can only see him about once a month. (I'm female, not male. ;) ) Studson, just to let you know, there are rumors that Brandon is BI, not gay, but... I wouldn't believe it, no matter how girly Brandon can act, he's still straight. See what marijuana can do to a guy? He was your average guy, until he smoked marijuana ONCE, and then he became all poetic fifteen minutes later. :p He was scaring his girlfriend (at the time) because of the way he was acting. | One of the sadder songs i've ever heard. Mikey's solo is haunting. It's beyond beautiful. I also like the way Brandon's voice is exposed in the song making it seem so solemn. It makes me want the girl from all my old photographs again. *sigh* | |
