| Hm...everyone either says its about sex...or it's completely about agoraphobia. I have another take. Possibly about a girl. Think about it...just read the first lines...then read please end this, before it ends us. Ahem...maybe a bad break up forced him into agoraphobia. | |

| Agoraphobia ----An abnormal fear of open or public places... It all about fearing the wide open wild cage that "apes with ego trips roam". " i read the news today, and everything they say, wanna makes me stay inside." There are somedays where we just wanna stay inside and stay away from the hectic wtf ever is out there. i believe this song is just displaying a sense of "THATS IT" i wanna stay inside for good....but the very last line shows that it sucks after a whlie and as much as sucks we all go back outside. cool song if you just look up words you dont know ppl! | |

| It's not about fucking, guys. Dirty minds...always. What it's about is a person who is terrified due to the supposed condition of the world and is finding himself more and more prone to just wall himself up in the house. If you really think about it, it relates to the US culture in general as we become more and more home based. More and more people seem to become agoraphobics as terror attacks and murder coverage appears on the TV. Everyday you hear how horrible it is out there and after a while it becomes to the point where some people are afraid to leave the house. He's telling you that this is bullshit in a way. Sure people are trying to get you scared, but do you really wanna stay inside for good? Eat TV dinners and stare at the walls? | |

| Agoraphobia- an abnormal fear of open or public spaces...... This is is about fearing what is out there... "I read the news today, And everything they say, Just makes me want to stay inside." Being out in this world at times makes you feel like you are surround by "ages with ego trips". I think he is just trying to display a feeling of being sick of the world and "wants to stay inside for good" and sometimes there are people that just want to stay inside and "kiss ther lovers lips". I mean COME ON! what else do you need?!? lol but ya...sometimes you just wanna stay inside but after awhile you cant take it and suck it up and go back out there. Which is illustrated in the last line of the song. INCUBUS ROCKS! ROCK ON! | |

| "You say, 'We have forgotten how cordial war could be'" should be "You, sir, may have forgotten how good your world could be" and instead of "hollow sips" it's "hollow tips" but anyway... onto the meaning... i think incubus is noting all the beauty in the world and is upset that all the focus on television and everything else that's going on in the world, today, is so negative. that instead of fighting and going to war we need to sit back and enjoy the happy comforts of life (put down your hollow tips [i'm guessing guns?]/and kiss your lover's lips). with all the violence out there, the narrator would just rather stay inside, because he doesn't want to focus on all these negative things when he knows there's better out there. he wants whoever's in charge to end the violence before it gets out of hand. if the person in charge would only 'kiss [his] lover's lips' and be more affectionate and loving, he'd know that he doesn't have to be at war with anyone/thing. | |

| I used to think it was "fuck off" but everytime I heard this song on the radio it was never censored...so I think Hilikmi had it right with "for God" | |

| It is about the corruption of the world, and how sometimes ya' just wish you could run away from it all...And pretend that it's a great place. But at the same time, there are great things in the world, if we put down our guns, and be romantic instead of violent, perhaps the world would be much less scary. Shit, I've seen some stuff that's made me wanna' stay inside before. | |

| "I read the news today And everything they say Just makes me want to stay inside [and wait] And a better part of me knows That waiting in the throes Is all on par with reading with my eyes closed" i'm almost certain he says "and wait" at the end of that line...just look at the next verse. he knows (or the better part of him knows) that just staying inside and being depressed will get him nowhere (fast?)...just as if you try to read with your eyes closed you won't learn anything. so, to me it's about learning how to deal with depression, which makes a lot of people sleep all day and never leave home. based on the first verse, that depression was probably triggered by the end of a relationship. by the end of the song he concludes that he has to go back out into the world (and possibly find a new lover) to spread his love. after all, if we let depression get the better of us then we let that which depresses us win. in the end it will consume us and "end us" because we let all the sad, corrupt, and evil things in the world control us with fear of what's out there. ...or maybe i'm just depressed. 1 2 3 Next | |

| ok i am agoraphobic. its not about fucking. its fear of pblic and open places. so if it were a song about sex, i dont think the band would be dumb enough to call it agoraphobia. thatd be pointless. | |
