Incubus Earth To Bella Part 2 Chords Guitar Tab

Incubus: Earth To Bella Part 2
Album: Light Grenades
Tabbed by: Eric
E-mail: enc7@hotmail.com
Easy song (It's pretty much the same strumming pattern as Part 1). I've tabbed the basic
of the song, acoustically...nothing more.
Standard Tuning (EADGbe)
Intro/verse: [Acoustic] - There's a little bit of a melody that fades in at the
of the song before it goes into the first verse. I don't know what it is yet but I believe it
like it's between Amin and Fmaj. If anyone knows what it is don't hesitate to e-mail me and i'll post it.
Chords:
Cmaj Amin Emin Fmaj Emaj

That's it. Now I know this tab isn't perfect, so that's why i'm open to suggestions and
e-mail me: enc7@hotmail.com --- but for the most part, this should be correct

For those who don't know, or didn't know, like me (until I googled it) Belle (bl) n. A popular, attractive girl or woman, especially the most attractive one of a group: [French, beautiful, belle, from Latin bella, feminine of bellus]

Did anyone else see a little more in this? I feel like pt 1 is him encouraging a daughter (for some reason this seems like he is talking to a child to me) to try something knew, and to know that it is ok to fail sometimes. And then here in pt 2 he is basically saying "I know you failed, but forgive yourself because you gave it an honest try." Thats just the vibe Im getting from it, I could be way off.

I think that part two is absolutely amazing. This is by far my favorite song on the new cd. It is the perfect closer for the album.

Kinda reminds me of Twilight...probably just because of the name "Bella" but this part makes me think of her decision to become a vampire. "Earth to Bella You think you’ve got it all figured in Earth to Bella Everything you know is wrong (almost) Earth to Bella I see where you are not listening I bear the burden of being the voice that let's you know We all grow old And before you stand you've gotta be okay to sink"

It really kind of pisses me off that people are saying how this should've been one song, and how the addition of this song period was a mistake... My god, it's a beautiful song, and means a shit load to me... we all (hopefully) have someone whispering in our ears that we are just not being truthful to ourselves. This song is about just that... both parts really. An d really people, TRUST the band!! they put it on there that way so you could listen to the cd as a whole! It's beautiful... especially for it being the last song on the cd.

this song reminds me so much of a book i read, where the main character, Bella, drowns but almost doesnt fight back against the current and just lets the water come over her, its so much like this song i even think its possible it is about her, since brandon loves reading. 1

Hm, the lyrics here could be a little off considering the bad quality but once the album's released we'll all know! I think it's about telling someone who thinks they know all about life and growing old that they're wrong, that it's not all so bad. I like foreverSurf's interpretation of bella representing all of humanity. Definitely would be something the guys would write about amongst a first impression of it being about a singular person. I really like the quiet emergency part. About a person/people who relies on other people/things for how to go about life or something..and he's saying they're all wrong. It could be about someone who's angry at themself, or being ridiculed by others for something, and that's why he says to forgive yourself and let the water come over her. The water being emotions, possibly. That it's okay to dive in and feel. Haha it could go so many ways! That's what I love about Incubus though. They're never ever just obvious.

alright. enough about the song. and the interview doesnt really give any information. Personally i feel hes talking to someone beautiful who think shes got it all because of her looks. the whole" i bear the burden of being the voice that lets you know we all grow old" like hey sweetie, soneday ur not gonna be able to rely on ur looks. and then the whole" undo your self" is like let go of what you believe and "watch a second sun accend" kinda showing that the girl thinks the world revolves around her (making her the first sun). the ok to sink, like life isnt perfect, you gotta fail if u wanna succeed. so theres my analysis of an AMAZING UNBORING SONG. incubus owns =]

Earth to Bella Part 2 is more moving and relaxing than Part 1...It's less rock and more melodic and im glad it's the last song on the cd. This song is better off by itself than being a full song instead.

I was about to say how easy it wa on guitar, hunglikeyora87. The accoustic part is great to learn if you're not the greatest guitar player (ie, me) in fact, I went to an incubus concert on the 5th and brandon breaks out the ol' acocustic and him and mike play. Incidentally, he stopped at the beginning and said "wait, mike, I want to start again for 2 reasons: 1) you caught me off guard and 2) I mess up the words."

I believe he is talking to someone who is very shallow, and very consumed within herself. the main jist of the song is saying you have to be ok to die to truly live. and only then when you can be ok to sink, can you be ok to live.

Wow first of all props to "drummasterfunk" for the lyrics, I've listened to it a hundred times on youtube and there were still fuzzy parts I coulden't make out. Bradons lyrics are so open ended this song could really be to anyone or no one in particular. We know hes obviously singing to a person he thinks is struggling in life. "Everything you know is wrong" "I see where your not listening". Towards the middle of the song he seems to be sympathizing with this person, "the world can be an unfriendly place, do your best to save some face." And at the end of the song Bradon seems to be encouraging Bella, "its not so hard just forgive yourself and feel the water over you." I think "bella" represents all of humanity and Brandons telling us to not be so arrogant, forgive ourselves, and live life without fear.

hmmm.. personally i think both songs reflect a lot upon the buddhist philosophies. One part that gives it away "I bear the burden of being the voice That lets you know we all grow old." if you've read the story of siddhartha, his father hides him from death so he puts him in a world of youth and beauty to hide him from the "truth".. and "And before you swim You've got to be okay to sink..." reflects a lot on the two golden fish that is part of the 8 auspicious symbols.. and they define courage.. so i think the songs meaning is along those lines.. -my fave. btw 1

I think this song is about someone convincing the other that life is not worth living and to just give up. to die. he's saying just give it up, the world is hard, just forgive your self for what they think you have done, its not real. society is wrong, and its not worth it to live in it. she is worried about death so she is treading water and has " a quiet emergency" about her. He is telling her that its okay to sink, or die, just let it be, the deep is better. death is better. the only way to save some face in the unfriendly world is to let the water over you, or the die. I think it could be about suicide. its the voice in your head that tells you to kill yourself gorgeous song, incubus is simply amazing

Well I think Earth to Bella parts one and two sum up the whole album. Which is a basic relationship, fast and slow, rough and smooth, ascending and descending... Ever notice how each song is slow and the next one is fast and rough? Just like a relationship...ups and downs...at least that's what I got out of the album. Sometimes you can lose yourself in one also that's why he mentions "dig me up from what is covering the better part of me" and "come on remember who you are". Nice cover art too, religious symbols in a grenade...religion usually starts war and violence.

It reminds me of the book Twilight too. But it has to do more with the sequel Eclipse because in that book Bella almost drowns.

This song, when it gets released in stores (its already been leaked as torrents), is two parts, with the second part the last couple of stanzas. To do this song justice, i sent in the 2nd part. This song isnt too bad. One of the better tracks (both parts) off the album. Brandon's lyrics are the standout. water is about a purity sort of thing. I think Brandon is trying to say instead of destroying our society, to conceptulise better ways of living, which links to what foreverSurf said :)
