There is a distinct strumming pattern here, so listen carefully.
Some of the notes almost sound muted, bet they still are audiable,
so don't let go of the strings at any point. You can hear the strum
pattern individually at 3:17 for one bar- so treat yourself.
When Sam sings "one..two..three", it goes into some kind of bridge
or alternate verse.

| i have always thought that the line listed here as "come way...." was actually, "come wait", and in the song after 1-2-3 he definitely says "do me" (it rhymes!) and so i always thought that it was referring to someone who is longing after someone that they can't have at the moment (come wait) and then after "it's over" "do me" which goes along with the swelling stuff, maybe it's a friend who comes to visit and either he or the other person is not free but he's still hot for that person. the "each night i bury my love around you" lyric tells me that he's waiting and longing and that, even if he's with someone, his love is buried and waiting. and then....there's the "say hello to the angels" line that could mean that they're finally together and so now they're in heaven (blissful love/sex not the christian heaven). This is a concept (not reality yet), this is a bracelet (something that you wear and something that exists but something you don't pay much open attention to) this isn't no intervention (i'm not going to intervene with the relationship that currently exists but just wait). etc. that's what it says to me, a person who is in a similar situation....but hey, i could just be projecting! | |

| I think that this song is a morbidly sexual story hidden in a punky tone so people dont get too freaked out by it. I think that it starts out with, you guessed it, masturbation. "I had my back turned, you didn’t realize I’m lonely" It starts out with that and then leads to pedophilia. He seems to be telling the person he is with what love is, showing her youth and naivity. Also, she is linked to his "innocence", which could show his guilt of rape. BUT IT GETS BETTER! I believe that the ending has to do with murder. He seems frantic when he is trying to get there, possibly the burial point:Can I get to this way, I think so Can I get to this way, I think so Can I get to this way? Can I get to this way? Can I get to this way? Can I get to this way? " Also, he says that he wants to run away in the lines directly after. Finally, and most obviously, he tells her to say hello to the angels, which shows her death (the murder idea), her innocence (the child rape idea), and lastly his guilt (masturbation and murder). Maybe I should stop watching Law and Order SVU. | |

| I always thought the line 'You're linked to my innocence' referred to the fact that he had lost his virginity to this person? | |
