| This song is a brilliant one; it’s doesn’t have unusual metaphors or anything, it just makes a few comments on society. I found this one particularly good: “Everyone’s looking at death from the sky” : This is so true of us. When we hear about a bombing or something we go “Aww, that’s bad” but deep down we don’t really care; we kid ourselves into thinking we know death when we really don’t have all that a close relationship with it, just because we see a picture of people suffering. One more thing: “Everyone’s waiting for news on TV” : Remember recently when crime rates in Iran dropped when their leader fell ill because supposedly everyone was inside trying to find out the latest on the guy? A perfect example of this line in society. | |

| I believe Nicko McBrain had a part in writing this song, and I'm pretty sure he's a Christian. Now, the actual line is not "I see the signs of the end of time," but "I see the signs of the end times," "end times" being what the time period discussed in Revalations is often refered to as. There are those who say signs of such times are evident... Whether you're religious or not it makes you think. | |

| It was also brought about in part by the media coverage of the September 11th attacks and ensuing War On Terror stuff. A lot of it is about sensationalizing suffering and evil. | |

| I see the song as being about how sad life and society has become. People watch the news to see other people dying and show no remorse or care, and they get excited by war and hope for war for entertainment, and think of themselves as above the war and aren't affected or phased by it in any way, hence why theyre "looking at death from the sky", they feel above the death they see on TV and dont think it could ever happen to them. Its overall about the arrogance of mankind, and how if it continues, we'll all wipe ourselves out. 1 | |

| The song laments the state of mankind: the hypocrisy of the modern era, the inevitable Apocalypse, and man's generally self-destructive nature. | |
