| This song basically sounds like someone who has a screwed up life, due to other people's actions and his own. As a result, he's going to kill himself (and possibly take others with him). The main purpose being that, possibly, he'll come back again and get a fresh start. | |

| I always thought that this song is about an alcoholic. The title of the song refers to the lies he tells to others and himself about his substance abuse. When he sees other people drinking hard and partying he knows thath they will face the same destiny as him but they are to busy boozing and having fun to notice it. A great song from a great album overall! | |

| to me it's about someone who is contemplating suicide but hide all of his problems from his family and friends. Because no one can help him. No good can ever come into his life even if he is surronded by 1000 persons. He feels cheated by God. One day they will discover that he is dead and won'T know why he killed himself. People won'T know how he loved his friends and how it tered his heart to let them go. Yeah it could be about a doomed relationship but still it would seem happy on the outside but hide everything on the inside. | |

| I can see what Master Lord Santa is saying, but i dont think thats what its about. It seems too ordinary for a Maiden song. I have always felt that it is about the last days of Jesus (i actually don't believe in jesus, but thats what the song seems to be about) "Time is up it couldn't last But there's more things I'd like to do I'm coming back to try again Someday maybe I'll wait till then " seems to refer to the ressurection; " They're all sitting at my table/Talking tall and drinking wine "seems to refer to the apostles at the last supper; "My life is set, the time is here/ I think I'm coming home" seems to refer to his ascension to heaven and his return to god, his father. | |
