	I believe that Blizzard the video game company did a spoof of this because in Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos there's a mission called Where Wyverns Dare and u use wyverns to travel over mountains and such. 1

	during wwII there was a failed Britishassassination atempt on Hitler. They were suppose to parashute into the woods outside Hitler's mountain retreat called the Eagle's Nest. They were then to infiltrate the Nest, kill Hitler, put on civilian cloths and take a train to Swizerland. Unknown to British intelagence, Hitler was not there that night. Later after the war, it was found that Hitler never spent a single night at the Eagle's Nest.
