All these notes are played using the third finger so there are
also grace notes due to changing position but I've just shown
the basic fingerings. Most of the bends should be "overbent" and
shaken heavily.

the british setlemants were on the east coast of the USA and a border fronteir was set up which wasnt to be crossed but when USA got its independence the fronteir was breached so technicaly it was the americans although it was actually the same people who decided to chnge their nationality.

I think it's pretty obvious what the song is about. A true metal classic, this song is a prime example of the galloping rythyms that Maiden became known for.

This song is about the American war on the frontier. After the whole War of Independce malarky, America went out to conquer the west, which the British had told the Indians before hand, that they could keep. The song is a brilliant song, espiccialy as it isnt biased. If it just saw it from another view, that would of been completly different on the other hand =)

Firstly, America did not exist in those days, it was the Europeans, namely England and France who came to North America and ran down the Natives. I find it difficult to decide whether Maiden is sympathetic towards the Natives, as expressed in the beginning of the song, or if they are proud of what has happened throughout the rest of the song.
