Subject: "Running Free" solo
Here is the tab for the solo in "Running Free" by Iron Maiden. The existing
tab in OLGA is fine except that only one out of two guitar parts is tabbed.
Cheers, Sergei.
It's not really needed to tab the verses, bridges and the chorus. It's mostly
variations on Em.
Intro: Em G-F#-D-Em C D The chords from G to Em are 8th notes approx.
Verse:Em C D Em G A etc
Chorus: Em G D-Em C D
RUNNING FREE
(solo)
I tabbed it as two parts, each one is for two guitars.
Every note played on the first guitar corresponds to a note on the second.
GUITAR I
-9----------------------------------------------------------
--12-10-12-10----10-----------------------------------------
--------------12----12-11-12-11-9-11-9----9-----------------

Guitar II

-----------------7---7-6-7-6-4-6-4---4-------
-----------------------------------7---7-5-4-
---------------------------------------------

Play this part twice.
Then ....
Guitar I

| one of my favorite maiden songs! it's about living life on the edge, and about the restrictions of being a teen, yet rebelling against it and not caring. | |

| about a person who lives on the edge and likes it. one of iron maidens first hits, it was there first single released 23rd febuary 1980- reached 34 in the charts. it was also eddies first appearance on artwork it shows him at an alley with a broken bottle chasing this guy, eddie started out as just a japanese kabuki mask at first which on stage which would spill out this red liquid on to clive burrs head, derek riggs gave it a body and eddie is now a heavy metal icon. if you have this song listen to the guitar solo in the middle of it, it sounds like something bill and ted or waynes world would do during there films! | |
