| It refers to the colors on a flag. So its like this country isn't afraid of war or something along those lines. | |

| Donzela, when a color "runs" it means it that is fades, or smears, or washes out. As Bard said, in the song this is refering to a flag. Does that help? Just saw Maiden in concert, they played this whole album. Blew me away to see them live. This song was especially powerful. I really like the line "We sailed away like our fathers before." We just keep fighter each other, generation after generation. Will we ever learn? Awesome song, awesome album. ~t.o.stearns | |

| Good shit. The new album sounds good so far. I need to listen to it more, though... I had it a week before it came out and I've only listened to it twice since then. =/ | |

| The Colours its referring to are the flag. not the colours on the flag but rather the flag itself. In the military, flags are called colours and this song is talking about not being afraid of war and never surrenderring or backing down. | |

| @link600900 In my view it is neither prowar or antiwar. Its just singing that, although wrong, we will do what we were sent out to do and will not back away. | |

| the "colours" are the colours of the union jack (wich is also refered to as "the colours"). these colours dont run means that people bearing the colours of thier country, or more specifically the union jack, (this is also shown in the artwork for the song) will not run form cold bloody war. | |

| I've heard about a certain event at Ozfest that had Sharon Osbourn throwing things at Iron Maiden while they were on stage... in the end Sharon showed off her true colors, while Maiden showed theirs. At one point, Bruce had the British flag and was waving it on stage during this tantrum by Sharon, and said "These colors don't run". | |

| Thank you, Stearns. It all makes sense now! I also think this is a great album. All 10 songs are petty good. Maiden will probably visit Brazil on tour too. They´ll come to Rio or São Paulo, only. These cities are far from mine. So I won´t be able to go. | |

| wow Benjio....wow, i doubt its about professional athletes considering the song says the words war in it a couple of times and talks about looking death in the eye and being a soldier. OF COURSE THIS SONG IS ABOUT WAR, my guess is Iwo Gima, seach it up if you don't know what the battle is because i'm too lazy to explain it. Theres a sweeet movie comin out with the Iwo Gima battle i'll be playin this song before i see it. ANYWAYS good fuckin song and "Ddadutta" I don't think maiden swears in the song XD. | |
