i think "Taylor" isn't exactly about a girl that is a hooker, she is just lost and seaching for herself. and trying to find somewhere else where things are clear.

Taylor is a prostitute and Peter is a john. He's wandering around because his wife Sunny just locked him out of his house. The reason is Sunny like Taylor also knows where he's been. But I could be wrong.

OK we all know the song is about a few people. Taylor- a girl gone from home fell into prostituition Peter Patrick- man who has "visited" Taylor Sunny- Mrs. Patrick probably not for long since she knows about Peters visits with Taylor The part about singing is so true in the way that people like to keep the image of christian up and say they are on and take part of the religious ritualous, but their hearts aren't in the right place. You can't just say your christian and cheat on your wife like Peter did. The part about the brake lights, I think, is that Peter has been caught before and promised not to do it again, but he's pulling over to Taylor yet again. The curb is a place for him to turn. I love Jacks line "givin' what you gotta give to get a dollar bill" Its what America has come to. Jack is the perfect person to talk about that, he doesnt sing for the cold hard cash, he sings for the love of music, he doesnt even put his singing in jeopardy by putting on "shows" he has concerts in which he sits and sings.

I think the part about "singing on Sunday ain't gonna save his soul" is saying that going to church and singing hymns and everything isn't going to get him into heaven...but how that ties into this song, I don't know.
