forevergreen, i was wondering the same thing... anyway, i love this song so much. i always forget about it, and then rediscover it, and have to listen to it nonstop for a month. it's madness.

This song is one of my favourite EVER songs, the fact it was on american pie covered by a terrible band was just insulting

Great song. The line "You think you're so pretty." is pure genius. I'm pretty sure the one line, though is "Line my eyes and call me pretty" not "dye my eyes"

i could see it kinda being a 'fight club' kinda scenario... like he almost has a split personality when it comes to how he reacts with this girl... and he loves it and yet it drives him crazy too... they had a crazy relationship [s&m, crossdressing] and sometimes experimenting like that can really affect a person..

YA... but what is it about... It's about a guy who is struggling with the fact that he is a transvestite ("Dress me up in women's cloths...messed around with gender roles"). He is trying to break free of that way of life ("My therapist said not to see you no more"), but can't b/c he is too addicted to the lifestyle. "[I] Moved out of the house...so you moved next door, I locked you out...you cut a hole in the wall" and then later - "You're driving me crazy...when are you coming home?" He is trying to stop living this way - but can't resist. When he says "you", "she", "you're", etc. he is talking about himself as a woman.

I don't really think that the song is about a transvestite. I always thought the cross-dressing lines of this songs were just an example of doing nutty things. There are plenty of normal people who have dabbled in cross-dressing at some point. Those lines are in a verse where he talks about playing with knives and slamming someone's fingers in a door. I always thought the song was about a relationship with a nymphomaniac also, and the relationship is ruining him (thus the "therapist" and "driving me crazy" stuff).

I was going to leave the same comment as clasicrock - The correct lines are: \"Line my eyes and call me pretty.\" Like eyeliner, you know. And I do not think this song is about transvestites. I think it just about an unhealthy relationship he was in.

I thought that the she was actually a woman, but now that I'm looking at it I think that it might be a transvestite. Interesting view. GREAT SONG!
