| Right, here's a comment on this song. It's amazing, fanatsically catchy and a beautiful tune. I think the line is "see the fire that burns" not "see the liar that burns". Now it makes sense, no? I don't think it's about one specific thing, but each line has its own sort of self-contained relevance. "Hold memory close at hand", "Find comfort in pain" etc. | |

| Find comfort in pain... That's a key line. I reckon its about self hate because you are too confused to sort out your life, and its too hard to express as words, and becomes... well... tears and rain. But still, whatever its about, its a great song. Well done Mr. Blunt. | |

| this song is one of my favorite songs .. evry1 passes throu a phase in their lives wher u duno who u r .. u just cant understand life and wat it gets .. i think that this song talks about a person who from the inside is sumone .. and from the outside is sum1 completely different .. and the person he is from the outside becomes him eventually "shed the clothes that become my skin" .. it hides his true shape .. im not sure thou .. but it has alot to do with "the picture of dorian gray" .. | I dont think when he says 'find comfort in pain" but instead i think he says "find comfort in plain". And if he does say this then the song makes sense, he's saying that he wishing to change his life, like forget all the bad he has done is the world. And like the three last lines of the first verse is saying he wishes that he chose saftey and warmth, like with his family or a loved one that he pushed away instead of chosing freedom out side. And he wishes he asked someone for help when he needed it but instead he didnt and he didnt find and solution to his problems. Then in the chorus its say that he want to run away from his life to a calm place and "find comfort in plain" so his excitement for pleasure stops and he find pleasure in the simple ones of life and because of this switch it keeps him from trouble. And he cant explain it because life is more than words its about emotion...Tears and rain.....think about it | |
