C/g D Em C/g
Sometimes, it's hard to believe you remember me

G Esus
Beautiful dawn, melt with the stars again.

Do you remember the day when my journey began
A
Will you remember the end - of time
G Em
Beautiful dawn, You're just blowing my mind again
Am Asus2
Thought I was born to endless night, until you shine.
Chorus:
C/g D Em C/g
High, running wild among all the stars above
C/g D Em C/g
Sometimes, it's hard to believe you remember me
Bridge:
Em C A7
Will you be my shoulder when I'm grey and older
C
Promise me tomorrow starts with you
Chorus:
C/g D Em C/g
High, running wild among all the stars above
C/g D Em C/g
Sometimes, it's hard to believe you remember me
C/g D Em C/g
High, running wild among all the stars above
C/g D Em C/g
Sometimes, it's hard to believe you remember me.
End on G strum
Its time to give something back! I've been learning the guitar for the last 6 months &
have used this site well - this is my first attempt to put something on paper. One wee
note - I'm not happy with the asus2 chord. All the best.

I also think it could just be literally about waking up after a bad day, and having the new day, and a new beginning to look forward to. Also how the dawn has been with him throughout all of his life.

Beautiful song. The line that struck me the most was: "Thought I was born to endless night, until you shine" Excellent way of expressing it! See William Blake's "Auguries of Innocence" - "Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night". A poetic reference if I ever saw one. It seems the other person referred to in this song is his "sweet delight" - and the rest of the song is I think carried by his lovely voice as opposed to any particular special quality in songwriting as such. I get the feeling that James Blunt could carry off any song as unique, because he himself has a unique voice.

He does include it into this recordings...infact i've got the liner notes infront of me: 'High' (Blunt & Ross) J. Blunt - Guitars, keyboards, marimba, vocals. M. Tarantino - Lead Guitar. S. Kristov - Bass. C. Paxon - Drums. Infact every track on this album has some sort of guitar on it. If the record company wanted to attract teeny bopers then surely they'd have put more into marketing it when it first came out about two years ago than letting it build up credibility on its own...

This song is about being in love & happy (high). It's the start (dawn) of a relationship after being alone for quite some time (endless night). It is the feeling you want to be with this person forever and asking if you can, almost like a proposal.

alrite..el bastarddo..everyone can have their own opinions about what songs or artists they like..even if u may find them to be horrible..and as for how people interperate the songs..it doesnt matter..someones own experiences in life are what determine what a particular song means...i personally enjoy hearing what other people feel when they hear the same music...so there's no need to talk crap on here because most everything on here is an opinion so there is no need to even attempt to disprove any of it...im pretty sure im done

I never said that he could not play guitar. If he can in fact play guitar so well though, then why does he not include it on his recordings? Is it because his record label is trying to attract teeny bopers by any chance? As for guitar being included on the video that does not constitute guitar! Anybody who is familiar with guitar music would know this so it is not worth going into with any more detail. The video for high is awesome though.

Firstly there is no doubt at all that this guy is a talented singer/songwriter however "A talented artist" give me a fuckin break! Where is the guitar? No, just fuckin pop instumental. The only reason he is popular is that his record company in order to make money has come up with a new concept of changing the accoustic/folk/rock genre into pop for the brainless masses. For example what is the chance that most people who like him have never heard of jack Johnson and listen to usher on a regular basis! even if i am incorrect the point that i am making is correct just by lookin at the comments on this thread. Even the lamers over on the nirvana threads don't come out with as much shit as they do here. Anyway, sorry if i offended you but i will make up for it by enlightening you to the meaning of this song which you probably have not even bothered to think about. By dawn he does not refer to dawn as a person but the time dawn when the sun rises. Yes, this song is about getting high and watching the sun rise. At know point in this song does he refer to dawn as a person but he refers to the scenery many times. Also in a way "your beuatiful" is also about being high because the reason that randomer is so powerful to him is that he is high which he clearly explains in the line "i was fuckin high". If you do not agree with me stop being in denial and so fuckin iggnorant!

I am not doubting that he is not an extremely talented singer/songwriter or the fact that his songs do include some guitar, piano etc but his music is certainly pop. For you to say that it is not is a stupid thing to say. Also the fact that when he plays live his music becomes accoustic rock proves what i said earlier in this thread. "his record company in order to make money has come up with a new concept of changing the accoustic/folk/rock genre into pop for the brainless masses" 1 2 3 Next
