We miss you now you've gone.

We're just swimming in your soul 'cause,

Digging how the guitar goes,

Did you burn that bridge yourself,
Or did the voodoo magic help?
Does everyone have a different take?
Are you just cool and I'm just baked?
Does everyone get mesmerized by your fire?
CORUS

Considering Jimmy is a nickname for James, I thought this could be about the singer losing a piece of himself.

in the cd cover it says written by Jimmy Blunt so it looks like he wants to be even more like Jim Morrison, taking his name

The moment i saw th lyrics to this song, i was almost positive it was Jim Morrison, heres why; 1. The song refers to voodoo magic, Jim Morrison was considered a pagan by some 2. The song refers to fire, one of the door most famous songs is "light my Fire" 3. The name is spelt Jimmy, not jimi 4. and James Blunt looks almost exactly like Jim Morrison, well at least his siloutte does on the CD cover.

How do you know he was even in Iraq at all? He was most definatly in Kosovo. Any way, I think this is about Jim Morrison, like Goneooc said (about 4 from the top) if you listen to the last part you hear Riders on the Storm. How much more proof do you need?

I did'nt say James was serving with the military in Iraq. He was in Iraq to smoke some penises. He teamed up with the giant from san farancisco to go tag team on some Iraqi man holes.

people.....it's about Jimi Hendrix. "fire" is a song of his. as well...jimi is well known for lighting his guitar on fire, and kneeling at it. Now, I never heard the song. but if the riff is close to riders on the storm...then that's genius...incorportaing morrison music and jimi lyrics 1 2 Next

to me this song is about Jimi Hendrix...I mean look at the lyrics: "Or did the voodoo magic help?"-Voodoo Child people and "Does everyone get hypnotized by your fire?" the thing jimi did with the fire... I really think it is about jimi hendrix and its very cool because I LOVE HENDRIX and i think the fact that james blunt like him too is very very cool!!!

5. The song has a distinctive organ, listen to the Doors, almost all of their songs have the exact same sound 6. At the end of the song "Riders On the Storm" can undeniably be heard. This song was one of the last Doors songs to be released before Jimmy's death, and appropriate to a song about his passing THE LIZARD KING @!!!!!

Not Jimi Hendrix, but Jim Morrison, like Eloise said. Listen to the last 20 seconds and you'll hear Riders on the Storm... Voodoo magic charm -> mojo -> Mr. Mojo Risin' (anagram from LA Woman). And, if it was about jimi hendrix, why wouldnt it be jimi instead of jimmy...?

actually its about both, Jimi hendrix and Jim Morrison. he's a fan of both. the lyrics were about when he was going abroad and "leaving" them behind. could be a metaphor for when he went to kosovo and was separted from friends and family
