Band: Jars of Clay
Song: Flood
Tabber: Enajiscle for Tweeky.
Ok so this song has to be on capo 3rd fret in order to match the song on the cd

intro : Am G Em x2
Am G Em
Rain, rain on my face
Am G Em
It hasn't stopped raining for days
Am G Em
My world is a flood
Am G Em
Slowly I become one with the mud
Chorus:
Am G Em
But if I can't swim after forty days
Am G Em
and my mind is crushed by the thrashing waves
Am G Em
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up
Am F G Em
Lift me up - when I'm falling
Am F G Em
Lift me up - I'm weak and I'm dying
Am F G Em
Lift me up - I need you to hold me
Am F G Em
Lift me up - Keep me from drowning again
Am G Em
Downpour on my soul
Am G Em
Splashing in the ocean, I'm losing control
Am G Em
Dark sky all around
Am G Em
I can't feel my feet touching the ground
[Chorus]
Am F G Em
Calm the storms that drench my eyes
Am F G Em
Dry the streams still flowing
Am F G Em
Cast down all the waves of sin
Am F G Em
And guilt that overthrow me
[Chorus]
Am F G Em
Lift me up - when I'm falling
Am F G Em
Lift me up - I'm weak and I'm dying
Am F G Em
Lift me up - I need you to hold me
Am F G Em
Lift me up - Keep me from drowning again

| Whatever, I hate the religion part but I still listen to the music occassionally. I choose to do that, how is that brainwashing? | |

| God is the same 'yesterday, today, and forever' right? so this song is tlkin bout Noah's ark , temptation of Jesus and any other time when God manifested as 'saviour' to those he loves. which is like, all the time! this song talks about the nature of God and as God is unchanging it can be aplied any needy individual/nation in any situation at any time. as everyone has said it's about crying out to God in times of trial and having faith that he will answer. and he does- praise God! | |
