I think this song also expresses the love God shows EVERYONE through Christ and how that kind of love can break any barrier set in front of it: language etc. 1

this song to me speaks of giving the agape love that God has for us back to him through our sincere acts of faith. The last verse especially ('So tie me to a tree...') deals with the issues of doing whatever love commands. We would do it for our lovers or our children, what about for our Father above? Simple and uncompromising
