(Section
A)
Faultless in the eyes that I could never open wide
enough to see me through
Much to my surprise it never orbits around the things
you should hold me to
(Section B)
I stand here...wondering
And I'm waiting
Chorus:(Section C)
My ear is twisted in all the thoughts
A glimpse of truce just because
It's always almost never close
I close my eyes, hide the distance
(Section D)
Enchanted by the face of peace and when it turns to
sunken eyes and waterfalls
Unsatisfied with simple things entangled in the chords,
I can't take any calls
(Section B)
I stand here waiting
I'm calling
[Chorus](Section C)
Refrain (**actual chords** Not chord shapes relative to capo.)
BM G#M C#m C#m/B BM
Waiting around for some kind of peace

Hoping you find me in my need
(Section C)
My ear is twisted
It's always almost

| I'm sorry andmott but I disagree. I believe is beautiful the way you interpret this song but it just doesn't make sense to me. This is what I believe it means: "Faultless in the eyes that I could never open wide enough to see me through" To our own eyes we look faultless, but we recognize that we will never look ourselves through with those same eyes. "Much to my surprise it never orbits around the things you should hold me to" We are surprised to recognize that "it" never orbits around God, we are surprised because we normally think "it" does. "I stand here...wondering. And I'm waiting" We stand here wondering and waiting, about our own impossibility to see ourselves objectively "My ear is twisted in all the thoughts A glimpse of truce just because" This tension comes from hearing, which leads you to think, which is 'twisting' as a metaphor for confusion and fight. We don't want the fight, we expect a glimpse of truce even without a justification for it, but... "It's always almost never close I close my eyes, hide the distance" ...truce never comes, its always almost never close, so I force it to come, by closing my eyes, by hiding the distance, by making me believe is not far. "Enchanted by the face of peace and when it turns to sunken eyes and waterfalls" The face of peace enchants us, without a struggle it makes our sensibility come back by turning into our own sunken eyes and waterfalls (crying). "Unsatisfied with simple things entangled in the chords, I can't take any calls" But we cry because we can't cry, we cry because we are unsatisfied with simple, daily things, we are entangled, trying to look for something else, We can't concentrate enough as to keep going with our lives, as to "take calls". "I stand here waiting, I'm calling" But we still stand here waiting, calling, with hope to be changed. "Waiting around for some kind of peace Hoping you find me in my need" Waiting around for the peace the internal mental truce would bring, with hope, that God will find us as we cannot get out of this. This is it, does it make sense? 1 | |

| To me this means.. "Faultless..." The truth of God is within all of us, Romans 1:18... we don't see ourselves in the sin we really are in. "Much to my..." God's glory is the center of the universe, and his values don't orbit around that. "I stand here wondering" Just contemplating his existance "My ear is twisted..." God gave him over to a depraved mind to have no thoughts. He knows the truth of God, and that he doesn't hold to glorify him, and deep down he feels guilt and wants distance. "Enchanted Peace" Further evidence the peace is not true that he has, and he says it turns to unsatisfaction, he gets further given over to his sin and is blind, deaf. "Waiting around for some kind of peace" Some hope here of him looking for God, but still not a direct conscious knowledge of his need for God, necesarily. | |

| One of my favorites off Much Afraid. Its about peace and blessings w/out a specific reason. We shouldn't need a REASON to show love towards others. It should come naturally from us. | |
