Song: Absolutely Zero
Artist: Jason Mraz
F/Cm [x 3 3 2 1 0]
You. You were a friend. You were a friend of mine
Gm C
I let you spend the night. You see it was my fault
F
Of course it was mine.
F/Cm
I'm, too hard at work
Have you ever heard of anything so absurd
Gm C
Ever in your life?
F
I'm sorry for wasting your time
Dm Dmm7 [5 5 7 6 6 5]
Who am I to say this situation isn't great?
Am
When it's my job to make the most of it
Cm Gm
Of course I didn't know that it would happen to me
Bm F
Not that easy-e-e.
F/Cm
Hey, what's that you say?
You're not blaming me for anything well that's great but
Gm
I don't break that eeeasy
C F
Does it fade away?
F/Cm
So that's why I'm, I'm apologizing now
For telling you I thought that we could make it
Gm
I just don't get enough
C F
To believe that we've both changed.
Dm Dmm7
See, who am I to say this situation isn't great?
Am
It is my time to make the most of it
Cm Gm
Of course I didn't know that it would happen to me
Bm F C
Not that easy, no-o no-o no no-o-o
Dm Dmm7
If all along the fault is up for grabs why can't you have it?
Am
If it's for sale what is your offer?
Cm Gm
I will sell it for no less than what I bought it for
Bm F C F A
Pay no more than absolutely zero-ooo.
Gm C
Well neither one of us deserves the blame
F A Dm
Because opportunities moved us away
Gm C
And it's not an easy thing to learn to play
F A Dm
A game that's made for two that's you and me
Bm
The rules remain a mystery
A Am
See how it's easy?
Dm Dmm7
See, who am I to say this situation isn't great?
Am
Well it's our time to make the most of it
Cm Gm
How could we ever know that this would happen to mee
Bm F C
Not that easy, no-o no-o oh-oh-oh-oh
Dm Dmm7
When all along the fault is up for grabs and there you have it
Am
Well it's for sale go make your offer
Cm Gm
Well I sell it for no less than what I bought it for
Bm F C F
Pay no more than absolutely zero-oooo-ooo.

| i'm thinking i agree with jhendrix86. i never thought of it that way, i just thought it was a clumsy fuck with a friend, and it ended up ruining the relationship as that can do 99% of the time, unfortunantly... 1 | |

| I thought it was about a guy who accidentally got a close friend pregnant in a one-night stand. maybe they were interested in each other, maybe they were ex's... regardless, things ain't good no more... | |

| I would have to say that this is NOT about a friend who already is attached, it's about falling for a friend at the same time that Jason's record contract came about. Jason talks a lot about his own record business so this seems fitting. I had a hard time understanding what the title "Absolutely zero" has to do with what he's talking about in this song. But it seems to make sense now. He says that nobody is to blame for this situation, but he'll sell the blame, or "the fault" as he says, for absolutely zero. In other words, I think he's saying nobody is to blame. I think? | |

| great song... but i dont think anyone has seen the anger in some of the lyrics... it is a song born out of frustration.... she has placed the blame on him and he is saying he will sell it back to her for what he got it for, absolutely nothing. | |
