This is the tab for "Life is Wonderful" by Jason Mraz. Tabbed by Sean Tyson.
...There are other tabs out there that are on key and use bar chords. But if you're
like me (and you can't sing that high) you'll like this version more. It is done in
a different key, and is comprised almost completely of open chords (opposed to bar
chords) so it sounds much, much nicer. I wanted to provide an open-chord version -
a couple keys lower - for everyone... So here it is.
The chords are described first, and the song is laid out with the lyrics below. Enjoy!
Chords:
Em Am C G B7 D
e-------------------------------3-------2-------2----------|
b---------------1-------1-------3---------------3----------|
g---------------2-----------------------2-------2----------|
d-------2-------2-------2---------------1------------------|
a-------2---------------3-------2-------2------------------|
e-------------------------------3--------------------------|
Optional variations/additions to those chords:
Em Am C Bm Bm F# F# F#
e-------3------(3)-----(3)------7---------------------------------------|
b-------3-------1(3)----1-------7-------4-----------------------3-------|
g---------------2---------------8-------4-----------------------2-------|
d-------2-------2-------2-------9-------4---------------4---------------|
a-------2---------------3-------9-------2---------------4---------------|
e-------------------------------7---------------2-------2-------2-------|
Chords for the 2nd and 3rd Verses!
*** Note the hammer-ons... He does repeatedly for the Em and Am chords in both the
verse and chorus (mostly in the verse). You can figure out the strumming on your own
- experiment...

| I love how the song progresses ... its starts off haha, cool and builds up momentum, singin faster, adding instruments, pronouncing deeper... and the lyrics go right with the progression, just like in life 1 | |

| This song just shows how simple and wonderful love is. It takes a night to a make a dawn...duh like thats how simple love can be. And it takes no time to fall in love but once youre in love it can take you a lot of time for you to figure out everything that goes along with it it takes no time to fall in love but it takes you years to know what love is it takes some tears to make you trust it takes some years to make it rust it takes some dust to make it polished (That part kind of shows that you have to take the bad things or the things that dont really work between the 2 people and make it work) | |

| The song is not generalized towards love only. Life in general is a gift and the things around us work so magically and mysteriously that gives us curiousity. He contrasts negative with positive, action with reaction, to show that in everything bad that happens to us there will always be a sort of message being sent to tell us something, good or bad. This song is so beautiful. | |

| "Life is wonderful" doesn't the title say it all? We can't have good without bad, happy without sad that sorta thing. That Life is wonderful because of the diversity of things in it and that you wouldn't appreciate the good if you didn't have the bad every now and again. | |

| This song pretty much means just what it says: Life Is Wonderful. The ups, the downs, the good the bad, it all works to make beautiful life. "it takes some cold to know the sun " "it takes some fears to make you trust" "it takes some tears to make it rust" Those have to be my 3 favorite lines. | |

| I think this song is about loving the simple things in life. Also i noticed that the song time is 4minutes and 20seconds exactly. At 4:20 life is pretty wonderful! | |

| It's Jason reflecting on how simple life is after all. It kind of seems to me very appropriate for him to put it on his second album cause he has accomplished a lot and now he's just telling us all "But you know what, life is wonderful!" I like. | |

| i absolutly love this song. i think jason is just telling everyone that no matter how hard things are you have to go through the hard things to get to the wonderful things. i found some lyric mistakes "it takes some tears to make you trust it takes some years to make it rust" i should be "it takes some fears to make you trust" "it takes some tears to make it rust" i think. i was just listening to the song and thats what it sounded like to me. | |

| I totally agree with triste on how good of a song it is and yet so few comments. I think that jason is trying to explain that everything works in circles. Sometimes there are bad parts in the circle but since its okay because its going to become good sooner or later. He's admiring the way life works. | |

| yeah i agree with those errors. but i agree with everyone on the meaning. it takes a little bit of bad to get a little bit of good. but in the end it's all worth it. | |
