alright guys listen... the rabbit rabbit, blew 12 kissed the 13th.. thats all superstitions to bring good luck (superstitious hyper realist) he is trying to remove the jinx of his old lady because he's found who he loves, but hes still shell shock from past lovers. so he wants someone to take the jinx away "im too dumb to talk to you, your so quick to listen to me" he loves her, but he cant get over his ex, hes jinxed

yes, this song is mentioned in "i'll catch you" by the get up kids when they say "remember jinx remembering". also, in "song for a mix tape" by the Ataris, the second line says "there was jawbreaker and armchair martian, built to spill and the descendents..." meaning those bands are on the tape, and then again, he quotes this actual song. it's a great song and i think its about how when you want someone, you don't think of all the things that can go wrong, but when they do go wrong, you'll do anything to make it right again. I think the person singing is trying all the silly superstitions and other things like that. ""Rabbit, rabbit," on the first. I hold my breath. Did tricks I hoped you wouldn't notice. A superstitious hyperrealist. I'll make you mine." It's superstition to say "rabbit, rabbit" on the morning of the first day of the month for good luck. And most superstitions involve holding your breath and making a wish. But he's doing these tricks and now wanting anyone to know he believes in them, so he tries not to let anyone know...even though he's desperate to make things as they once were. that's just my opinion. feel free to correct me :-)

This was the first Jawbreaker song I heard, a loooooong time ago. They're still my favorite band, and this is one of my favorite songs.

i think the "blew twelve, kissed the 13th" is referring to his inability to find meaning in the relationship until its over. 13 is simply an unlucky number. for some reason i think of 12 hours... but there are 24 hours in a revenge therapy... i mean a day. 1

im not quite sure what this song means but i like it...i think it has a lot of inside jokes in it that we dont understand....but just a question. I assume this is where Kris Roe of the ataris got the line from in their "song for a mixtape" he says the line about loving someone more than anyone before.....and also in the GetupKids song "Ill catch you" they said "remembering jinx removing"....are they talking about this song?

to me, this is about how confusing it is to be with someone. you love her but it won't work so you try desperate, ridiculous things, hyerrealistic things but not real things. in the end, what will work is what you won't do: be.
