Fall Out Boy should have never even touched this song. I think it's beautiful. I think it's about being yourself, as opposed to copying your generation, because the trends today won't matter in a few years.

I hate everything.... Fall Out Boy.... the epitome of conformity and trendy for our generation... singing a cover of this awesome song? Its just wrong... so ironic that its actually killing me inside.... Not to mention that these lyrics being sung by any vocalist that didn't have a raspy, smoker-esk voice (good ol' Blake) just ruins it.... Anyways... awesome song.... bad cover... I hate Fall Out Boy... and I hate the people who think the cover is good... 1

I love that line, "survival never goes out of style."

I think this song is about growing up and being young. Its about fiding yourself and what you want, and not worrying about making mistakes cause thats what happens. It's also too about finishing, and not giving up.

It has always struck me as a song by someone older to a kid who is sad. It seems to all be about not getting depressed and not giving up and the fact that just by doing this you can save a whole generation. Gosh i love this song! Gosh i love Jawbreaker!

I really like this song. I wish we'd all stop bashing Fall Out boy. Their cover was pretty good too.

at first i was listening to it and thought it was about not polluting and keeping the earth clean and blah blah blah. but the more i listened to it i realized it was more about staying true to yourself and not letting yourself become the cliche of your generation. and then i started thinking, maybe it's about suicide. "survival never goes out of style" "your leap of faith could be a well timed smile" as in you just have to be a little nicer to eachother.

i think its about taking chances [million open windows] and not to dwell on ur misery [There is plenty to criticize], even when u took setbacks. and how u could be a good example for ur generation -- thus save it --
