That is A New Day Yesterday, By Jethro Tull.
This is pretty correct, though I am not completely sure about
the Outro. If you have any questions, e-mail me at livinginthepast2@cs.com.

To me this is about having had an experience one was looking for, but the 'next day', reflecting and realizing it was elusive, 'wondering how' he might ever get back there. Could have been a woman who he could only be with one time, for whatever reason. Could also be a metaphor for having a spiritual experience that seemed to change everything (i.e. a 'new day')... but losing sight of it as the days pass ('old day now'). In both cases, I've been there. And this song has always tended to make me very emotional for that reason.
