Intution
Performed By Jewel Kilcher

This song isn't really an acoustic song, but you can make it one, and that is
exactly what I did. NOTE: This is not EXACTLY how they play it on the recording,
it is just a way you can play it. It sounds cool.

Chords, and how to play them in this song:

Bb- X00331
Eb- X013X1 (you can just play the B string, if you want)
Am- X02210
Dm- XX0231
C- 032010
D- XX0232

Okies, here we are:

Intro: Eb, Bb, Am X 2
(sing) Da, da, da.... (you can sing the accordian part)
VERSE 1:
Bb Eb Am Bb Am C
I'm just a... Never try......

Eb Am Bb Bb Eb Am C
They say.... Kate... (lyrics?)

Bb Am Bb Am Bb Eb
In a world.... What was....

Dm Bb Am C Dm Bb
It's not.... Understand Just....

CHORUS:
Bb G Eb Am
Just foll.... Your int....

Am Bb Dm
Surely (lyr.?)... In the right direction

Bb G EB Am
Let go... Your in....

Am Bb G D Bb Am
It's easy..... Just follow your heart, baby

Intro to
Verse 2, same as verse 1
Chorus
BRIDGE:
Eb Dm Bb Am Eb
You could.... Sell yo....

Eb Dm Bb Bb Dm
You could... You'll... Wait...

Am Bb Am C Bb C
If you.... Don't....

Bb Eb
I pro.... It won't.....

Chorus until out.

On the chorus, the G (and once Bb) is when she slurs up on "heart" (Just so ya know)

This is definitely a joke/satire. Lure them in with flashy videos, and then hit them with reality. Is what she is likely doing.

i'm thinking. . . whatever happened to the girl with her guitar and her blunt honesty and that pure quality her music had? and if she's not selling out, then why is the song on some razor commercial, huh? selling out or not, she's loving the attention, and her new sound is completely different and a lot less beautiful. i always loved jewel because both she and her music was beautiful, and there was a balance. now she's just selling her bauty, not the music's. i think -- for everyone who used to like jewel -- it's time to let her alone, because this music's not even her. try some tori amos, at least she's still honest.

i'm really not a jewel fan at all, i just turned on mtv one day and saw the music video, i will have to admit that it will turn heads, and Jewel does deserve to do that, it's not like she is pulling a Brittant or Christina...

If one has *truly* embraced the idea of 'to each his own'--then one has to give up judging what others do as somehow universally bad. As Jewel points out: "in this world of postmodern fad, what was good...now is bad". So for instance, repressing one's sexuality and feeling negative if others don't do the same (in prudish times before postmodernism) has gone from being virtuous to being immoral in the world Jewel is singing from. The video shows versatility and her undeniable sex appeal--with obvious intelligence exuding from the choreography and the humor ("Jewel's music sounds much better now that she's dancing. I love it! SCRREEEEEAAAAMMMM!" Suzi from Anchorage, AK.) This song carries the artist's message, namely of trusting one's instincts--and that each person can find their version of heaven if they use the compass of what makes them feel happy. It is clear that for people who liked Jewel's earlier work better and have no interest in diversifying their appreciation talents, they should perhaps focus on listening to her earlier albums and other artists who are in similar phases. In that case, following their "intuition" would mean not listening to the new album...and to only post critical thoughts if they are enjoying the act of supplying such criticism.

What happened to Jewel?? She went in a difference direction and wrote new songs... This isn't "Let's-all-say-how-terrible-Jewel-has-become"... this is SongMeanings. Her lyrics are still just as moving and well thought out as before. "You got something that you want me to sell Sell your sin. Just cash in." I believe this whole song is about how everyone conforms to what society expects of them. I also believe she is mocking.

i dont think shes selling out. i think the song and the video are mocking every other video on mtv today, and how people get lost in the flashy lights and the dance routines. if anything, the song says to look past these things and follow your heart instead
