By the way, this is my first tab, and I know the time frame is a little screwed up. I don't think you'll
too hard of a time figuring it out if you've ever heard the song =)

| STONEDOUT is actually correct. It was always lead to believe that Hendrix got into an accident and he broke his ankle and he was dischared. It was discovered earlier this year that Hendrix wanted out and said he had gay tendencys and he was masturbating a lot. So naturally, they kicked him out. lolz | |

| The lyric is, "I pick up my axe and fight like a farmer." Not, "...like a bomber." | |

| This song is absolutely devastating. Especially when Buddy Miles (drummer) sings 'ooooh' around 7:43. It's so chaotic. I just love how he blends Soul, Funk, Blues, and Rock. All my favorites. This is song is awesome and so is Jimi. 1 | |

| Hendrix indeed did claim he was gay to get out of the Army. He joined because he had no education, and other than guitar, no real talents (and also to stay out of jail as was previously mentioned). Another reason for his joining was he had a lifelong fascination with the military that didn't wane even when he became somewhat anti-war. He wanted to join the 101st Airborne and after becoming a supply clerk he constantly begged for Airborne training as he was desperate to belong to something, and the Airborne would give him something very macho to belong too. Vietnam hadn't escalated at the time he was in the service so he never left the States. The war didn't change him, music did. He started playing in a couple of small time bands with army buddy Billy Cox (who later played bass with Hendrix's Band of Gypsies) and decided that he didn't want to be in the Army because he wanted all of his time to himself to be a musician. So he visited the base psychiatrist daily with complaints of homosexual thoughts toward his bunkmates, compulsive masturbation, etc. He finally allowed himself to be caught masturbating in the squadbay and the psychiatrist finally marked him unfit and told him to go. And the lyric is "fight like a farmer" not bomber. | |

Carter Wanna Be |

| one of the greatest rocks songs ever man, you know i heard on the radio, jimi hendrix was at this concert (Filmore East I think) performing different songs and messing around getting down and falling down on stage and playing the guitar with his teeth, and he went backstage and his manager said "So, if you're the greatest rock star of all time, then how come you fuck around and play the guitar with your teeth and stuff?"(note: that's not exacly what he said just something in that nature. So Jimi went out back on stage to perform Machine Gun and prove his manager wrong (or whoever it was). And the next song he was going to play was Machine Gun, and he had the guitar slung over his soldier and stood away from the microphone just far enough so his lips could reach it and he performed the song standing completely and utterly still, not really moving a muscle and performed the whole song solo, lyrics and all. it was an amazing performance and afterwards, jimi went backstage and asked that one guy if that was good for the greatest rock star ever and he agreed completely. so jimi said "good" and went back on stage for the encore and did another song messing around and playing with his teeth. funny story beautiful song. | |
