I love this song and named my guitar 'Waterfall' after it. Its lyrically masterful in that you can take from it what you want.

Shut the "eff" up, man. Did you even read any of my post other than the part about drugs? I doubt it. He obviously *was* falling, and if you can't see that, you're self-blinded. "That's beyond the point" huh? Then why don't you say what the freakin' point is? Or would you prefer to insult my comments? You might notice I ***DID*** say what I thought the point was. The drugs bit *WASN'T* the point of my post. Sorry about the tone of that post, but I just can't stand idiotic BS. It's getting late, peace.

My favorite line is "Waterfall, don't ever change your ways. Fall with me for a million days, oh, my waterfall..." Beautiful. A pity he had to throw in that drug reference about "daydreaming"...well...sorry Jimi but IMHO you're a lazy-minded fool (lol)... Don't ever change your ways (keep falling) - he knows he's falling (spiritually) but as long as his love is falling with him it'll be all right. Kind of sad, actually.

whether jimi wrote this about drugs or not, this is one of the most pure love songs out there, imho. the lyrics are short and don't try to take the metaphor too far. the music itself is . . . jimi effing hendrix. it's beautiful. sometimes i go to sleep to this song, i put the song on repeat and just drift off to this wonderful piece of rock artistry.

eff you buddy, its not a pity jimi wrote what he did. if you dont like what he wrote thats too bad, you cant change it and jimi's the genius here not you. its okay though keep trying to analyze his songs because im sure you know exactly what he was thinking as he wrote them. there are worse things out there than drugs, but thats beyond the point.

also, in response to bodester (and i just realized how far apart those posts above are . . . a yearlong fight w/3 posts . . . LOL), was hendrix really a lazy-minded fool when over the course of three studio albums he absolutely changed the music world and you (to my knowledge) have not done the same in your lifetime of work?

I love this song. I just wish the guitar solo lasted another 2 mintues at least...it's just too brief.

i love the rolling, waterfall-like drums. the guitar solo is just so dreamy and spaced out. the whole song is just amazing. 1
