Structure + Lyrics
Intro/Verse
leave home today
escape your region
it's in your head, keep moving on
Pre-Chorus
choose starlight
no way to retrace
it is gone
(no way to retrace all your good days add them up
it is gone)
choose star bright
no way to retrace
it is gone
(none of you knew any more then
leave it here
it is gone)
Verse
become your dad
live unquestioned
it's in your head, nostalgia is death
Pre-Chorus
choose starlight
no way to retrace
it is gone
(no way to retrace all your good days add them up
it is gone)
choose star bright
no way to retrace
it is gone
(none of you knew any more then
leave it here
it is gone)
Chorus
starlight star bright
starlight star bright
Bridge
can't depend on honest answers from dependent hands
won't accept an honest answer from an open hand
(say the words and i sign off
starlight star bright)

starlight star bright

| This song rocks! It's about leaving something behind and realizing that you can't go back and relive all your memories. You have to let go in order to move on. I can't think of a good way to describe how it makes me feel. | |

| I like it a lot too. The way this site wrote out the lyrics suck. It doesn't show how on the chorus the two vocal parts overlap. That's the part I love about the song. It reminds of Crush off Clarity. | |

| It's not the site... it's the person who submitted the lyrics. And yeah, the overlapping part is great, it harmonizes well. | |

| yes, this song is really cool, but it sucks that jimmy is getting really popular now. This song is good and has hidden messages to its listeners like all songs do. But the middle is popular and Jim said it himself, the middle was the worst song he had ever written, it was to outgoing | |

| This song rocks. A lot of people think clarity is there finest work. But I love static. i love the raw edge. The first demo of this song is so cool. has anyone else heard it? better yet does anyone know the lyrics? | |

| This is one of my favorite songs. What more is there to say? JEW showing their musical power yet again. If you haven't listened to this song, this is definately one not to miss. Well, then again, you should never miss any JEW song. Great song, Great Band. | |

| Call it in the air, and most of Static Prevails all seem to encompass all the different stages of going away to college/ leaving home. Call it in the air is just an assertion for whoever Jim is speaking to begin the rest of his life and stop sitting around reminiscing about the past. As far as the title, "call it in the air" could be reference to a coinflip. For instance before football games, the captains are asked to "call it in the air" to see who gets the ball first. (This doesn't just have to apply to football) Anyway, calling it in the air is making a quick decision that will affect you greatly in the future... | |

| I know this is off subject, but this is in reply to the last post. I agree, the middle is an awful song. I find it wierd that it took one whole year since the release of Bleed American until it got popular. I also find it ironic that it's popular when I think the lyrics blame the popular crowd for making people try to conform, but yet the popular crowd likes it. Anyone agree with that? | |

| I agree with the comment before. I can't stand the middle. And I also hate the fact that now everyone is listening to the music now. JEW all about not just going for something because its popular and now they've become popular. Nobody even realizes that a lot of the songs are saying, do what you want, listen to what you like, etc. Anyway, as far as this song, I love the way it says that when you can't go back. It really hits because recently I've begun to realize that. Also, I think its implying that we shouldnt leave anything behind or regret anything. Maybe I'm way off... | |
