| what i think this song is in reference to is that nobody can understand the real music and appreciate it unless they are willing to open their eyes to tthe truth. they think they can mold a perfect "H model" of a person because they dont realize what it does to everything.these molders do not understand that in order to be great you do not have to be perfect or exactly the way people want or expect you to be. you are yourself not some faceless numbered person that doesnt matter. 1 | |

| Oh yeah I deffiently get that feeling too! I love the line in the new asthetic "these days are numbered i can tell, so until the crash i'll write you down". I think they both have strong leaning toward the music biz! but i may be wrong! either way JEW are a great band! rock on | |

| justing reading the lyrics, this song sounds like "your new aesthetic". and if what you said, dean martin, is true about what this songs about, then isnt it the same meaning kinda as 'your new aesthetic' also? | |

| After a search on Yahoo, "H Model" probably refers to an acoustic guitar made by the Santa Cruz Guitar Company (http://www.santacruzguitar.com/scgc_cat_h.htm). Assuming that "Forsdale" is not an obscure reference to someone or a personal friend. It could refer to Dr. Louis Forsdale who was a professor at the Teachers College at Columbia University. It appears that he was involved with music and communications. He is also credited in a few school textbooks. I'm am not convinced that this is what it is and it doesn't explain the syringe part; however, when you search for "Forsdale" he is pretty much the only name that comes up. At the same time, given what the rest of the song appears to be about, regardless of who Forsdale may be, what the line amy be referring to is someone trying to inject new life into the band, industry, etc., but after a while it gets harder and harder. And with each injection of life (BTW, I am not making a drug reference of any kind.) the syringe wears thinner until their is nothing left. | |

| I think it is a reference to a car! but i don't think that is what the songs about! i think he is talking about the music biz! and how hard it is. "cash in honey cash in now" make me think someone is telling him to give it up. but i'm prob tottally wrong! great song regardless | |

| I think this song is about the music industry and how hard it is. As probably everyone knows, JEW were messed about by their first record company who dind't really care about them (think it was Capitol?), so this is maybe aboput disillusionment at that... | |

| Listening to it first time, I thought it was about someone who refused to agree with what other people did. The line "They'll never see your world, no matter, matter how hard they try" Love the song. Thank god for the singles. | |

| The same lines used in A New Aesthetic, exactly. It is strange that he used them twice, but they're really powerful, I think. It seems that's all the music industry wants. The don't look for new, inspirational things, they look for what they already know what sells, and more often than not that means their looking for a clone of an already popular band. That line is Jim expressing his distaste for that practice, and I totally agree with him. | |
