Tabber: RollerQueen
Song: Spangle
Artist: Jimmy Eat World
Words and Music: David Gedge/The Wedding Present
This song is full of little nuances. I tried to get them all.
This is a Wedding Present cover from "Watusi" and is most readily avaiable
on Jimmy Eat World's "Singles" album.

| This song was originally by a band called The Wedding Present. it's pretty obviously about a break up and the feeling of humiliation that comes with it. | |

| I listened to this song non-stop right after me and my ex-gf broke up after trying a long distance thing the first few weeks of college. I particularly like the lyrics: "Really don’t know where to start. Did you say you met some neighbor. I guess I’m headed for a broken heart." cuz it pretty much epitomizes what happened, caring so much for a girl and then having her just go after some other guy just b/c he lives conveniently across the hall. | |

| I listen to this song non-stop... It is so literally beautiful... It makes me cry soo hard... My favorite part is when he says "Sure I’m gonna let you go. I was wrong to ever trust you. Don’t think that you’ll ever know how you could be so cruel.". The "ever know" part is my FAVORITE... | |

| I can hear the same vocal melody in The New Amsterdams song - Every double life. Whats up with that? I guess they both really like the Wedding Present | |

| Song kicks arse. Along with all the songs on Singles. But I mostly love the version of Cautioners that's on the UK release. Oh yes. | |

| David Gedge's great at writing literate songs about relationships, and this one's no different. The original version, with Gedge's voice, makes it sound a little like a drunken plea, but JEW's sounds more hurt. Jim did a fine job here, and it's a fun song to play. | |

| the Wedding Present version kind of sucks I love in this version at the beginning how they randomly have little split-second breaks of another part of the song | |

| There is no doubt this song is a tearjerker, and if you have just been through all this then it is perhaps too much to cope with, it should come with a health warning: JIMMY EAT WORLD ACCEPT NO LIABILITY FOR EMOTIONAL OUTBURSTS, LISTEN TO THIS SONG AT YOUR OWN HEARTS RISK! | |
