from nerdrocker:
I believe this is the correct intro. If not it sounds better and is
easier to play than the other ones.
Listen to it to get timing.

| It irritates me slightly when ppl talk about jimmy eat world selling out. The way i see it, they made an amazing record that has got them the recognition and success they deserved | |

| I really don't think Jimmy eat world are sellouts...I mean, come on, they decided that, on their new tour, that rather than tour arenas, or large shows, to play small clubs, and smaller shows...for a reason. They care about their music... I don't care how popular they get...crap, they deserve the popularity...they'll never sell out. | |

| The song seems to me to be about natural selection - the idea that in nature the strong survive and feed on the weak and old. A message to all those who don't appreciate what they have - "These days are numbered I can tell. Sing while you can. Now while you can." | |

| Oh, I know JEW is on MTV...I'm just saying that they haven't really sold out until it starts getting to their heads, ya know? When it starts to be ALL about the money and the MTV apperances and they forget about the fans, the people who put them in that position, it's nothing to be proud of. I also cringe when I see little 12 year old girls yelling "Jim is so hot" on TRL or the local pop DJ raves about the new JEW song, but it's something we, as true fans, need to deal with. It will soon all pass and JEW will be ours again. Just hang in there. | |

| Uh, god. I love Jimmy Eat World and I always have...but why can't they just stick to what they believe in. The song, like elroy said is about...wait, do I hear "Bleed American"......how the radio makes the music less about...Where do I hear "The Middle"...ugh, ...music and more about a profit... | |

| roflmao@'Jeh-crawling-Hova'...dude, i'll be laughing for days on that one ;) but yeah, anyway, mtv is feeling threatened by all the criticism (true criticism, i might add) about how they cater to pop culture, how they're all about the 15 minute shallow-ass pop stars, on and on. you could make a case as to how mtv is accelerating the decline of american society, morality, blah blah blah, but i won't...not here, anyway. so mtv goes and says, 'hey, we're all about the music, we always have been. look, we even made mtv2 because we're so into the music.' then, again correctly, people starting raging about how mtv only played the pop crap, didn't care about real honest music, etc. so they go and stock up on videos from what had been considered 'indie' bands, like jew, like saves the day...they go and get foreign bands too and say 'we're music. hell, we even made a show on the 'real' mtv called all things rock and got that band good charlotte (*cough cough lame cough*) to host it, because we're all about the music.' so now, all the original jew fans, the original std fans, the foreign audiences scream bloody murder because now mtv made their bands 'sell out.' it makes me nauseous...a band is good, you listen, you like, you buy, you become obsessed...then mtv or something like it hears the band, uses it to try and increase viewership and revenue, and the band goes on its own way, still about the music...who cares where it's played? oops...this is about song meanings, isn't it? well, if you actually read my entire digression up there, then you know what i think the song means, pretty much... | |

| Does anyone else find it ironic how everyone is argueing over whether or not JEW has sold out, when the meaning of this song strongly criticizes not only the bands that do, but the radio stations and tv stations that determine what is popular? JEW is not a sell out band. They probably never will be. Just because they are finally achieving media success, it does not mean they have forgot about their fans. JEW is all about the fans, and completely agree that they deserve their popularity. | |

| I think that if you don'tlike Jimmy Eat World and you're pissed at them cause they got a little popular, then why are you waisting your time writing about them then. | |
