Here's my best guess of wash away(reprise), it's a simple, but lovely song,
pick it or strum it, it all sounds good.

| Suicide song? The hell? No, it's a pretty straightforward song - He's just saying he knows everything is gonna get better. How did you miss that? | |

| i think it's just him saying all this crap is going on and he's been caring so much so now he's just going to turn himself off and take a step back from everything. just take a time out. could easily be a suicide song, but i don't really think it is. | |

| the actual music behind the song is so melancholy that I don't know if it is a positive or negative connatation behind "wash away" but I guess its all about how you interpret it right?? | |

| Heard this on lost as well. Surprised it's not more well known... It's hard to tell whether this is a happy or sad song, the music itself cheers me up but theres some sad element to it as well... | |

| I can see this song as meaning a few things, but some don't make complete sense... So, I'll just put forth the one I think makes the most sense. He is leaving these things behind... Either he committed suicide, or has stepped back to get the bigger picture and abandoned these things in attempt to save his own life (and sanity). People often assume that because the tone (music) has a happy feeling sound to it, that it could not possibly be about death. He is happy because his pains, troubles and worries are going away... Finally. He can move on. (That's why a suicide song can be happy. Not to say that this is one though. But the very last bit of scary wind at the end makes it seem like it is.) | |

| riqgees, there is always more then one meaning to a song. While wash away may mean to you as a new begining or whatever, inbetweenmolecules sees it being washed away as suicide. Think about it, with suicide the trounles go away. | |

| Ok, someone mentioned that they don't know why this song wasn't bigger????? This song was number 1 on UK Itunes for a while, not to mention in the top 25 on the US's Itunes for a while too.....This song was huge for him. Not only that, but the producer actually called joe and asked him if he could make a song for lost...Joe did just that in out came this great song. 1 | |

| The song sounds like a baptism. He lives in this house by the river for a week, and it seems like the water cleanses him. The album reflects on people he hurt and new relationships made, but they all wash away. It's definitely a spiritual song and a great opener and closer to the album. | |

| Excellent song! Reminds me very much of Jack Johnson. I heard it on Lost too, I like being introduced to music via. TV shows, there's some good stuff I'd never hear otherwise! And Lost is a great show :) | |
