| Right you are Pusito! Tim Rice worked well on this one! he actually came up with 2 versions of lyics, one for the song during the film, and one for the Elton version at the end. By the way guys, I am also gay, and I can assure all of you that gay people like me do NOT choose to be gay. Nobody tells us to be gay, its just how we are. Wether it is meant to be, or wether theres something wrong with us has not been proven yet. I DO however know, that being gay does not affect our talents, skills and abilities in life. If anything it makes us stronger and more appreciative of things, as we have to grow hardened to all the homophobic abuse and rubbish we have to listen to on almost a daily basis from people like WERUMM. I like this Elton John song so much, because its peaceful and harmonious. it makes you remember the good times, the happy moments, it makes you feel moved. It is a peaceful 3mins of escapism from all the troubles of oursometimes miserable, bitchy, mickey taking civilisation 1 | |

| This is a good and simple song. Gay people can write, anyway. People think Walt Whitman was gay, and look at the respect he has. "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" is a good pop song regardless of the sexuality of who wrote it. | |

| elton and bernie considered this their 'darkest period' and hence the album title "Blue Moves". Bernie was going through his divorce from his first wife....... the excesses of the 'do no wrong' years had begun to take their toll on elton and taupin and this album reflects that more than any other, lyrically and musically 1 | |

| Oh my godness are you crazy??? What the fuck is wrong with you?? First of all, Elton John really doesn't write his own lyrics. Second of all, what's the difference if you're gay or straight??! Can't you feel love??! Oh my god, you people love connecting EVERY SINGLE LINE in a text with some homosexual stuff or something else. I've been scared to enter the Queen section ever scince I read a couple of posts there. It's so beautiful, I can't even believe you can be proud of singing it while you were drunk! o_o Anyways, it can make anyone cry. At least anyone who has some heart or something :/ The restless warrior and the wide-eyed wanderer are such a nice part of the whole meaning of the lyrics, they definately create the whole feeling of the song. It makes us believe that everybody has their star-crossed voyager whose heart beats in time with theirs. And kings and vagabonds are both equal in front of it. | |

| This song is so simple but yet so moving. It has the most beautiful melody and is in my opinion the best elton song there is. The song is about a relationship that is falling apart, the lines "do we have to fight again" reflects it. It's all about one persons point of view of the way he/she wants his/her lover to compromise and not be so mean. The person can see a big arguement (storm) coming 9 times out of 10. He/ she wants to settle down (turn out the light) but the other still wants to carry grudges. This song is a masterpiece and deserved an award. | |

| Huh, well he doesn't even write the words to his song. Also, this was written for the Lion King so i'm not sure there's going to be any hidden meanings like that in there. | |

| It's true, Elton John didn't write the lyrics, for those of you who are interested they were written by Tim Rice (in accordance with the movie "The Lion King, although this version of the lyrics only appeared during the end credits and on the soundtrack). Elton John's a very good singer as well, this is a fantastic song. As to what it means, it carries the general spirit of it's use in "The Lion King" (one of my favorite movies by the way). It's not terribly complicated, essentialy it's a love song, yet one of the better love songs in existence, as rather than addressing a particular person or describing a particular story, it's more of a poetic description of one's feelings of love than anything else (literally "can you feel the love tonight"). In the movie, the film version of the song is used to convey a sense of being at peace with oneself and the world, and being able to set aside your many conflicts and hardships, whatever they may be, in favor of being able to give yourself over to a sort of oneness with the world, brought on by the feeling of love, more poweful than any of your hardhips, or anything else for that matter. This version of the song does pretty much exactly the same thing, if nt more effectively, given the lyrics. It's not clear whether the speaker is actually a warrior/voyager/wanderer, or if he is simply comparing himself to one, but the idea is the same: Even someone with the burdens of a warrior or voyager can set everything else aside for once, because of this overwhelming and enchanting power that love has. Overall it's a fantastic song (as I believe I've said already), however it's terrible that the person who posted these lyrics can't be bothered to write out the word "you". And yes, Elton John is gay, but how that has anything to do with anything is beyond me. He's still very talented. Freddie Mercury was gay as well, and look at all he's accomplished musically. And as long as we're speaking of talented gay writers, Plato and Walt Whitman are all well and good, but you can't forget Oscar Wilde, the Wilde one himself. And that's about it. Ciao. | |

| Plato was gay does that mean he was stupid and couldn't write shit? Wake up and stop being stereotypical. This song is simple - straight forward - it's about how anyone, no matter who, can find love: star crossed voyager, kings, vagabonds, restless warrior, ect... and when that happens it can change their entire view in life no matter how pessimistic it may have been. The most important part, to me, is when the song (written yes by Morrisey and Mercury) says that: "Theres a time for everyone if they only learn that the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn " It's basically meaning not to give up hope, that even when you feel like you'll never find love, and that someday you'll find him/her. | |

| I don't think there's a single person who's posted in response to your idiotic "gay" remark, werumm, who has said he wasn't gay. Maybe instead of being so ready to attack everyone who posts, you should read some of what they wrote. Just a thought. I prefer this version of Can You Feel the Love Tonight to the movie's version. It's a great song, regardless if the singer or writer is gay or straight. | |
