John 5 (real name John Lowery, born July 31, 1971 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan) is an ex-member of rock & roll bands Marilyn Manson, David Lee Roth Band, Two, and country music group k.d. lang. John 5 plays the lead guitar. He is currently married to nude model Aria Giovanni.
John 5 has recorded two solo albums, his solo material is a mixture of hard rock, progressive bluegrass and country music. His second solo album, Songs For Sanity features guest appearances by Albert Lee and the award winning Steve Vai. John 5 is also close friends with Steve Vai who has been quoted as saying "John 5 is an underrated guitar giant. It's rare to hear a musician fuse various styles and create a unique blend and brand all of his own. It takes balls, but that's what's needed to be truly original." John 5 has also done a short movie called God Is Closed vol. 1. It can only be seen on his website. John 5 has also recorded music for some TV commercials and video games.
John 5 played with Rob Zombie as his live guitarist during Ozzfest 2005 and appears on his forthcoming album. The same year John also worked with KISS frontman Paul Stanley on Stanley's second solo album, which will be released in 2006.
John now plays for the band Loser which formed in late 2004 and had it's debut in Hollywood, CA.
