| I interpret it as whenever he's happy it hurts other people; "His smile is a rifle." More often than not in life to ascend ourselves we step on the backs of others. He feels that if hes happy someone else isn't. The time he wrote this he was on the road with the peppers and was miserable, but he knew the things he wanted to change would make others unhappy. | |
