Intro
(1) Sometimes
I wish that I was the weather
you'd bring me up in conver (2) sation forever
and when it rained
I'd be the talk of the day
(1) Sometimes
I wish that I was a cold beer
I'd rest assured that you would ho (2) ld me near you
I'd be guaranteed to be just what you need
(3) And there could be no other way
cause you're so vain
Your tired words are all the same
(4) I would surely walk away
if I wasn't such a sucker for you
(1) Sometimes
I wish that I was a bong hit
You'd let me in and (2) love every minute
and tell the room
the things I did to you
(3) And there could be no other way
cause you're so vain
Your tired words are all the same
(4) I would surely walk away
if I wasn't such a sucker for you
(5) I see your world with rosy colored glasses on
what a right would i see wrong
I could never have that power over you
(1) Someday
I'm gonna pack up and leave this town
I'm gonna get my (2) own place going on
and when I do
I'll forget about how
(3) you're so lame
your tired words are all the same
I would walk, you know I'd away
if I (6) wasn't such a sucker for you
I wasn't such a sucker for you
I wasn't such a sucker for you

| It took me a whole week to learn this song on guitar, he is such a talented guitarist! It just sucks because his hands are huge and I can't reach that far. this song explained a situation I was going through with a girl perfectly, so I printed out the lyrics and gave them to her... the last thing I heard from her was that she loved John Mayer, and never to talk to her again... something like that- oh well! | |

| aww.... this is my favorite jm song ... (cept perhaps comfortable, but that's an obvious classic) anyways, here's my little story to make you all jealous: i saw him play in dallas last year & in between songs i screamed "play sucker!!" & after a few songs he came out on stage alone & he started pickin around w/ some stevie ray vaughn stuff & then he went into sucker & afterwards he was like "i don't play that song much, but someone asked so there ya go" .... ahhh alrite, now that you're all jealous.. i'm out | |

| Well...I don't want to reiterate or regurgitate other's comments but...John Mayer is amazing...And thats simply not enough! But in this song he struggles and succeeds with the topic of a guy who likes a girl so much that no matter what she does...he's stuck with her. I think this is a universal theme (everyone has someone like that in their life). And that is what makes this song so damn appealing. I'm seen John Mayer (a lot)...and...he's only played this song live once when I saw him...but he started with Comfortable (which I'm sure many of you know) and went straight into this song. I think that gives us some insight about the two meanings of the songs...and putting them together was ingenious. (Maybe they were even written about the same girl!) I think that is why John Mayer keeps getting more and more popular....using clever and yet obvious metaphors (read: bong hit, beer, weather, etc) to describe himself in this situation is just one way of making us feel what he feels. Which in short, is the purpose of music. Wow...I didn't mean for that to be as "important" as it sounded. This song is just good...it's happy and catchy and there. I feel like I've said my piece. :o) | |

| i love john mayer and i love this song. it's just about wanting to be a part of someone's world, and not really being able to. it's about being so in love with someone that you'd do anything to be a part of what they are. ahh...i love it! | |

| Oh gawsh. This song kills me. This is the situation I'm in with my ex. If only I could be the weather, a cold beer, and bong hit, maybe then I'd mean half as much to him as what he means to me... | |

| Wow! i LOVE this song! John is my fav all time musician!! I just love how he is so descriptive w/ his songs and just has a unique way of writing something that almost everyone thinks of inside their heads but never actually says it. John is cool cuz he's not afraid to say what he thinks or how he feels about stuff. To me, he's the kinda guy that wears his heart on his sleeve. That's why I adore him soooo much!!! | |

| I know exactly how that feels. Another great song by John Mayer (no surprise there). He's amazing. His lyrics are so well done, you can easily relate, which makes the song, aside from it's addictive sound, even more appealing. | |

| "Sometimes I wish that I was a bong hit You’d let me in and love every minute And tell the room the things I did to you" -John said that this was about him wanting a certain girl to love him as much as she loves her bong. Sadly, I can totally relate to that. John is...just amazing. Every little thing that comes running out of his mouth is relateable. | |

| Man, I just heard one of his songs yesterday and since then I have been downloading all of them I can get. As soon as I get a chance, I am all over getting his CD. This guy is amazing. So sad I didn't discover him before he was on MTV :-( It doesn't matter. His simplicity amazes me, and even though when you think about it, he isn't much different in style from Dash or DMB, there is something about him that makes him so much better in my opinion. I'm hooked... | |

| i can completely relate to this song. he's either in love or infatuated with someone, and he wishes that he could be all of these different things so he could be ANYTHING to her. she either doesn't treat him well or the feelings aren't mutual - "your tired words are all the same." he knows it's a bad situation, but he's such a "sucker" for her, so he can't "walk away." :) | |
