This song is about taking opertunites as they come rather than always looking for more ways to make life better

I think that Jack is saying that he wants to be somewhere where the people are fun and pure, and that they don't worry about stupid things. He wants to be in a beautiful, carefree place where everyone knows what's really important and you can enjoy everything, whether it's raining, sunny, the ocean, the sunset, and just... everything. Hmm, that was probably a run-on sentence, huh? 1

this is the best song on the new Curious George album, the ulkelela is a nice touch

I especially like the first line: "I want to be where the talk of the town is about last night when the sun went down". It seems to me he's talking about being in a place that has their priorities in order. Jack often talks about the silliness of our superficial and gossipy culture. Here he may be saying that he'd rather hear people talk about the beautiful sunset last night, rather than people talking about who slept with who and who wore what. Come to think of it, I'd also want to be where the talk of the town is about last night when the sun went down

talk of the town means that he doesn't want to miss out on anything fun...and that everything happens for a reason and he never wants to miss a minute of it

Jack Johnson said this song was how he saw the world as a little boy and how he always wanted to paint everything he saw and then he tried to paint the day but he could never finish because then the night came and things changed, and when he tried to paint the night he couldn't finish as well because then the day came and so on. Time just runs to fast to catch up with it.

this is a simple, laid-back song about someone who has great ambitions to be out in the fresh air and sunlight. he has great expectations of the outside world, and longs to "Find all the pieces..And put it all together". could this song be talking about Curious George in a zoo, longing to get out?
