I think it's about a chistiam actor who has alot of money and is always trying to get more and the bible is saying that the things that you accumulate on this earth don't mattter but he dosn't listen to it and the reason I think he's an actor is because of that verse "Masquerading as a man with a reason, My charade is the event of the season And if I claim to be a wise man, well It surely means that I don't know "
I heard this song on a religious retreat and it is so good just to reflect on it and it really motivates yu...t hanged my life.

Well Wayward means 'going with out set motives or objectives. So what i think this song is about is, A person drifting through life. Thats my guess.
i'm not religious at all but here is [one of] my thoghts on the song... it is about jesus being upset over how christians have prostituted their religion and his image. perhaps...
